Man! His shoe goes at least 20 ft in the air...Josh gets knocked back 12 ft form the spot of impact, does a 270 degree flip with a half twist before landing face/chest first on the concrete AND...the football player in him says...

"Josh! Get up...Get back on your feet! Don't let them know your hurt!"

So, less than 5 seconds after getting hit...up he goes … onto his feet … ready for the next play.

Incredible.

Stats where close...but UNI did not dominate any phase of the game. The slight edge in yards and first downs and a better edge in time of procession are only significant if you totally discount UNI because they are a FSC team.

UNI played very well, brought a great game plan, displayed great execution and held their own but in the final analysis, did not score enough points once they reached the red zone.
If they played like this all year long, IMO they could finish in the top tier of the MAC or even, as Norm Parker assessed their talent, in the middle of the Big Ten. However, you will have a hard time convincing the Sports Media of this one.

Many may not agree with me, but the only team that had a chance to pull away Saturday was Iowa.

Part II

With Iowa’s defense tightening in the Red zone, applying pressure to Grace and shutting down UNI’s run game in the second half, Iowa’s offense scored two touchdowns at will. When considering a barely missed field goal (3), opting out of another makeable FG attempt for a failed a 4th and 1 conversion (3), one TD called back (7) and another well thrown ball to McNutt in the wide open - dropped (7), Iowa played well enough to post at least another 10 to 14 points in the second half.

Iowa came out flat and UNI forced them to make some adjustments, but in the end, the better team emerged in the second half to take the lead (leaving several points on the field) and withstood a valiant final push from an emotionally charged, talented, well coached team that sadly suffered either a complete special teams break down or simply wilted to the will of the Iowa defense in final 7 seconds.
