In one of the videos Marc posted, in which the players are walking off the field, Jewel and Robinson were walking off the field together, like a couple of buddies.

GazetteOnline.com : Iowa-Arizona is the Game of the Week in college football

This is the best scheduled game of the year from my viewing perspective. Kickoff is at 12:30pm Australian Eastern Standard. Will actually be able to have a beer while watching the game this week. The EIU was a 2:00am kickoff. Ruined my Sunday day but was still worth getting up for.

at the :13 second mark someone says "don't rack yourself" to a fan who is climbing over something. Got a little chuckle out of that :)

Arizona's offense looked pretty darn good on Friday night. Foles is accurate and the run game was there all night. WR Criner made some NICE grabs. First TD of the night was a pass in the back of the endzone over ex-Hawk Diantaue (sp?) Morrow. AZ may be better than expected. Defense looks pretty tough as well.

GazetteOnline.com : Roster update

Frustrating for fans and the coaches but sometimes one gets into something and finds that it's just not a good fit. Ever had a job that seemed from the outset to be great but once you got into it wasn't for you? I started a masters in psychology and like 3 months in was like "whoa doggy, this is not for me". At the time I felt guilty for taking one of the precious few spots in the program but I wasn't going to follow through on it and spend 10s of $1000s just to make the profs happy. Moved on and haven't regretted dropping out. These things happen.

GazetteOnline.com : Barry Alvarez speaks, and what he seems to say is Iowa and Wisconsin are headed for different divisi

This East/West split is beautiful. Shame it will never happen. IA, WISC, NEB, NW = solid division. Northwestern is on the up and up. It's quite possible PSU could slide a bit when JoePa retires. Might take years for MICH to bounce back. MSU is of course consistently average. I could actually see Purdue being one of the better teams of the bunch, a few years down the track Thus, it's certainly possible that iowamike's proposed geographical split would result in the west being the stronger division. According to Jon Miller over at Hawkeye Nation, it is quite likely that Iowa will end up in the Eastern division with PSU, OSU, etc. Wonder what KF and KOK think about that, being as they are from PA and OH. Certainly wouldn't hurt recruiting that area and out east generally Too bad the Hawks would rarely beat OSU and thus almost never reach the conference title game.

The Iowa coaching staff told him that they wouldn't be offering him a scholarship. So he made the sensible decision to play for the Cyclones, where he will be on a full scholarship. Can't blame the young man for that.

The mp3 file off of this page is only 3:04 long and the version on iTunes is not working at all. The download prematurely stops about a third the way through, then displays an error message. Not sure if anyone else has been having this problem...

And don't discount how bloody tough A-Rob...never gives up on a play. I think we Hawk fans consistently underestimate him. I know I can be guilty of doing just that, but then I watch highlights (i.e., PSU, MSU 2009) and am reminded of just how good he is.
