KOMO - Seattle, WA :

Medina installs cameras to keep track of visitors |
 KOMO News

I decided to limit my visits to the Kitsap Peninsula after the new Narrows span was built because, frankly, the cameras bother me. The ones on the ferries are bad enough. It's a good thing for me I don't need to go to Medina, since now I won't under any circumstances. Where I go and what I do is MY business.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Sparks fly at Everett\'s health reform town hall | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

Yeah, whatever. That's why I just spent more than my insurance company did for preventative screening for melanoma, NOT because I'm a sunfreak or a tanning bed junkie, but because of my skin type. I know very few people (I can count them on one hand) who're irresponsible with their health and/or expenses. And if competition is so good, why hasn't it worked so far? Ten years ago I never had to worry about if I could afford health care. Now, I'm worried if I can keep it, much less afford it.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Nickels: Enough \'potshots and platitudes\' | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

Seattle has some serious issues, and Nickels hasn't done anything I can see to resolve them. Most important in my mind are homelessness, affordable housing, traffic problems, and attracting small business. I used to love working in Seattle, but after a decade things are getting worse, not better. I'd rather live in downtown Bellevue...it's at least walkable and attractive.

Will be voting against. We have enough of a budget gap as it is....this is the worst time to be doing something like this.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Mother Nature shows off area's weather complexities | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

Weather Underground radar shows a nice big hunk of precip coming northeast from Shelton and then the northern band sinking down from Everett. When they say "converge", this looks like the two will join right over Seattle metro from around Federal Way in the south to Everett in the north. Here in Bellevue it's still 36 with sunbreaks running about every ten minutes. But I'm just an optimistic amateur. We have the weather crowd on TV, NWS and the blogs for the expertise.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Heavy snow falls across parts of Western Washington | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

I sure hope you're right, You. I normally work in Redmond but decided to work from home today to avoid the nasty commute. Since I'm too old for Santa, do you think Mother Nature will make my holiday dream a reality? ;)

So horribly disappointed. This has been a seriously crappy week for work and I was really looking forward to a good dose of snow to cheer me up. Here in Bellevue it's cloudy, very very windy, and 37 degrees. We've had exactly two rounds of "snain" today, each lasting less than five minutes. Sigh. Maybe this weekend, but I ain't betting on snow anymore. Nothing like getting your hopes up and then having them crushed against the CZ wheel.

Totally agreed! He's the guy who engineered the idea of taking on higher risk in exchange for higher premiums. He's the biggest criminal of all.

Why'd they keep Schneider? That guy is the WORST, second only to the combo of Killinger/Rotella. He was arrogant, rude, and was a major player in the policies that created the garbage that's now held in the mortgage portfolio. "Risk management"? Paugh!

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Ken Schram: GOP can't have it both ways | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

Oprah's show is just that....hers. She's made her fortune understanding and catering to her audience, and if this is a misstep on her part, so be it. But she's not a journalist, and I wouldn't expect Ms. Palin to be on Oprah any more than I'd expect Mr. Biden to be on Rush Limbaugh. They (Oprah and Rush) are both entertainers, and whether you agree with them or not, their roles in society are driven by what's interesting to their audiences, not what's in their audience's interest. And since we don't have real journalists who work in the public interest rather than for ratings, I think the odds are good that Ms. Palin will never have to face the vetting and questions that she should before the election rolls around. Those of us who want to know where she stands will have to rely on other sources.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : McCain preps for 'town hall' convention speech | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

This speech was dreadful. McCain talks constantly about America needing change, when it was he and his own party who took this country down the path we're on to begin with. As a former McCain supporter in 2000, I have to say that I don't know this man anymore. He has old policies, tired speeches, and nothing that makes me believe he'd be any better than what we've had to endure all these years.
