Both are active. The iphone was originally locked for T-Mobile but I chose a contract with o2 and therefor unlocked my iphone to be able to use it. T-Mobile is a prepaid xtra card btw.

At home any time I put in my tmobile sim it shows the sign for 3G being active, but o2 only gives me the E for Edge.

I successfully jailbroke my iphone 3G and unlocked FW 4.2.1 on BB 6.15 with ultrasn0w. Now the phone accepts my sim card but I only get edge, no 3G. I went back to 4.1 but still get the same problem. My carrier is O2 Germany. Is there a way to somehow boost the 3G connection? I tried with a T-Mobile sim and it was connected instantly so this should not be related to my location.

I successfully jailbroke my iphone 3G and unlocked FW 4.2.1 on BB 6.15 with ultrasn0w. Now the phone accepts my sim card but I only get edge, no 3G. My carrier is O2 Germany. With my prepaid T-Mobile card I get 3G instantly, but that is normal since it was a t-mobile branded phone.
Is there anyway to get 3G to run on my O2-de (Ger) sim card? I tried SAM but that does not change anything.
Also I moved back to 4.1 right now because of some trouble with a slow and breaking wifi signal.
4.1 Wifi is fine but still no 3G, only edge. GPS is working fine btw.

I just got an older iPhone 3G with FW 4.1 and checked it's baseband (05.14.02) and bootrom (-596.24)
Should I upgrade to 4.2.1? I definitly need the carrier unlock. If yes, please tell me a short step by step (which versions of redsn0w and or ultrasn0w etc) for windows users. Thank you.
