Sigh. Flagrant ignorance of basic physics. All electromagnetic signals pass though non-vacuum transmissible media at approximately 2/3 speed of light in a vacuum, the same approximate speed that light travels through fiber optics.
Propagation speed of the signal through the media has almost nothing to do with the data bandwidth of a data carrier. What DOES matter is how frequent the signal can be modulated (essentially turned on and off), and the light signal in an optical fiber can be turned on and off thousands of times quicker than an electrical signal in a copper wire, therefore an optical fiber (along with its LED or laser drivers) possesses the ability to carry thousands of times the amount of data in an equal amount of time as a copper wire driven with an electronic signal.

The main thing that everyone needs to keep in mind is that no debate will ever change the fact that Trump will not be beholden to anyone but the voters, and anyone else who might win the nomination (for EITHER party) will essentially be owned by the rich and powerful individuals and organizations who raise the thousands of millions of dollars of the necessary campaign “contributions”.
That is why the big-money power brokers are in such a quandary. Ordinarily, they simply buy whomever looks to be most likely to win, but Trump doesn't need nor want their money, so all they can do at that point is either attack Trump, "contribute" to losers (which is pretty pointless), or pull out of the game (which again is pointless). Therefore, the only rational option for the rich and powerful who are used to buying up all the necessary politicians is to take out Trump. They have no other choice.

Still, maybe Hick can get his Australian buddies another sweet insider deal where they get the exclusive right to build all the wonderful bike lanes in exchange for charging bike tolls.
