1- More debugged drivers with less holes.
2- Because 5.09 solved the security hole that had the previous versions (allow the BB version modification).

From now on new iPhones 3GS with a specific BL wont be jailbrokeable since this new BL checks the ammount (size) of data that gets loaded and the slightest modification in code could trigger the restriction.
Theres no perfect code, but there are ways to make things hard.

Hello and here we go:

1- Yes, download an unmodified apple firmware and install it thru iTunes.
2- Yes you are able to use any sim card, thats what the unlock is for. Simply replace the sim card by the other carrier one and done.
3- Yes you can still sync with iTunes and manage videos, music, photos, etc. Simply dont upgrade the firmware when iTunes detects a new version is available or else you will lose all the data.

Well its possible to restore a firmware. If you download a new or older apple unmodified firmware you can install it to your iphone thru iTunes.
It will become unjailbroken (no Cydia or Icy) and locked to the original carrier(if the iphone is unocked from apple it will remain unlocked tho).

Check what BaseBand version do you have. If it is the 05.11.07 Ultrasn0w wont work, if thats the case, install FuzzyBand from Cydia and if your BootLoader version is in the range of the supported ones, it will let you downgrade the BaseBand to the 04.26 wich will work with Ultrasn0w.

Hope it helps and works.

So far Geohot has not mentioned anything about BL 5.09 and BB 05.11.07 work neither.

Instead of QQing you could become a hacker and solve the issue. Have you done something for them? They are doing this for free, so stop demanding.

I have also a locked iPhone but it was my fault to upgrade it in the first way. How did yours become locked?

Strange, you should get into DFU by holding power and sleep for 10 seconds and then release power but hold sleep for another 10 secs (all of this while the iphone is connected to the PC via USB).
iTunes will recognise the phone in recovery mode and you will be able to restore a firmware thru iTunes. Shift Click the restore button and select the firmware. From there continue as you did with redsn0w

Lol you come here demanding something that they do for free and its not their work?
Show ur face in an Apple store and tell them your problem, maybe they will help you.

If you are such in a hurry you could do it yourself, and if they are not able to achieve it insted of asking for names you could google for it.
2000 people around the world with this problem? I bet there are more but sincerely, 2000 people around the world its a shitty number, think about it. Thats more or less the freaking number of people that works in my building.
