I've got almost the same thing but my serial is xx015 but still new bootrom. im wondering same thing if ipad bb will work with mine? I think based on redsn0w warning your serial means it was made week 43 and therefore incompatible with ipad bb but im not 100% sure on that. does anyone know if its the bootrom version that determines if ipad bb is compatible?

I've got a 3gs on 4.3.3 with updated baseband a friend wants me to unlock. I'm just curious about the iPad baseband upgrade redsn0w warns that it's not compatible with week 35 or later 3gs models is that because of old vs. new bootrom or something else? My serial is xx015 which is obviously less than the xx135 they said, but this iPhone does have new bootrom (359.3.2) not old. Does that mean it's incompatible? If I try it to see will it ruin something if it turns out it isn't compatible? Thanks!

ive got it unlocked too. use pwnage tool it preserves the baseband. 4.1 works great. he asked about 4.2 and yes that will kill the unlock but using pwnage works fine for 4.1

i just put my 3g on 4.1 a few days ago and it does seem to run much faster than it did on 4.0 so I'd try that. 4.0 was brutally slow for me but i attributed it mostly to multitask. even with that on 4.1 seems tons faster and it seems im always keeping about 30-35mb free ram now on 4.0 it was closer to 15mb average if i didnt restart it every day

Hi all. Have a problem with an iPhone 3g just pwned it on 4.1 for my brother and he decided he wanted to enable the multitasking so i immediately put it back in dfu and tried to put the firmware with multitask enabled on it. itunes gave error so i tried again and it keeps stopping on preparing iphone for restore step and giving errors. have gotten range of 1600, 1604, 1606, maybe 1603? ive tried everything rebooting, re-dfuing, doing steps for just recovery, turning off, unplugging half way through, nothing works. any ideas? i need it unlocked so i have to use pwnage tool

I have a 3g on I believe 3.1 currently and am trying to update to 4.0 to jailbreak/unlock. I was going to use redsn0w once updated but iTunes won't allow me to update to 4.0. I'm assuming they've locked out everything before 4.1? I tried putting it in recovery mode, tried renaming the file to iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw to trick iTunes but it still says "device is not eligible for requested build" any suggestions?

Well first of all I would recommend posting questions on the most recent blog post where people will actually see it. I just randomly stumbled on this old post by googling something. and as for unlocking you are already on 5.11.07 baseband and therefore ultrasn0w will not work you have to use geohotz's unlock called blackrain. it should by in cydia google to find repository

Hi I am having problems unlocking an 8gb 3g. I have used both pwnage 3.1.3 and 3.1.4 with same results everything works fine and jailbreak goes smoothly but when I install ultrasn0w and put in my tmobile sim it will not connect says no service and makes the service tone about every 5 seconds. I am tearing my hair out I've unlocked plenty of iPhones before with no troubles at all. I have never ever wanted to harm an iPhone in any way but this one is SO close to going through a window. Please help! Thanks!

Shoot I was accidentally commenting on the older post no wonder there was barely anyone on! Cydia was all messed up at first gave me errors and showed no packages and wouldn't add sources but I repwned and then ultrasn0wed and it worked. But now the iPhone wont connect to t-mobile it says no service but makes the connect tone about every 10 seconds. I turned off 3g I've tried rebooting a couple times with no luck. It's a 3g on 3.1 using pwnage 3.1.3. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Shoot then it can't be jailbroken or unlocked right now through pwnage. The baseband is already updated and there is no unlock for the new one yet. Hopefully the dev team will figure one out but you're going to have to wait and see. I'm pretty sure I've seen people say you can just jailbreak with geohotz's hack blackra1n but it will not unlock either. Sorry man

I'm not sure I just tried looking for something saying what baseband the iphone is on in settings->about or anywhere but I didn't see anything. If you find that somewhere make sure the baseband is not 5.x needs to be 4
