No one is staying the situation is perfect. NI does not have the best healthcare in the world, nor our resident's life styles always ideal but as region of the UK it scores best for pregnant women.

There is more to brain then the cerebral hemispheres and cerebellum. Yes only a small part of the brain is present but its there. I am sick to death of people calling anencephalic babies 'virtually dead and and 'brainless'. Its factually untrue.

Obviously I am talking about typical healthy babies, not anencephalic babies. These kids don't feel pain but you are clueless about the condition if you think they are brainless. What info do you want? Info on hospices are widely available.

Yes he is a British psychologist Dr. Michael Scott.

"Addressing a London conference Nov. 29th, Dr. Michael Scott said 99% of abortions in Britain performed each year to protect the mental health of the mother could not be scientifically justified."

Complete double standards. procedures should be devised on evidence only. there is no evidence that your course of action offers superior outcomes for the parents.

Doctors cannot predict length of life. Even anencephalic babies have lived far longer then expected. Years in some cases.

Have you heard of the Groningen Protocol? In the Netherlands your logic has allowed this kind of mercy killing to age 12. yes age 12. Barbaric.

The child does not suffer after birth.

My best friend died 3 year ago at age 22 from a genetic terminal illness. Should her parents have aborted her to alleviate her suffering? Was her existence pointless. See in your line of thought it possibly was. I know that is untrue, and I know if we really want to be compassionate we will let nature take its course. the length of your life does not remeasure its value.

Parent only choose abortion when they don't fully understand their option and the medical condition.

First of all they don't suffer pain after birth. Modern medicine alleviates pain. Secondly in the UK these conditions are used to justify late abortion. During these the baby feels immense pain. there is is no pain killer for late abortions.
