I have been contemplating this also. Think about it. If they can stir up enough unrest and declare martial law the entire Constitution can be circumvented in the name of national security. Once that happens it is only a matter of time before we are in full scale revolution or we become complacent and let the powers that be make everything OK for us. :( At that point the keys to the shackles will be buried in a deep deep pit. This is why every effort must be made to keep things peaceful. The good news is that I work for the U.S. Army and get lots of feedback from the troops on a daily basis. I can safely say that many, many of our brave troops will not obey any laws that violate the Constitution. There are some that will probably follow orders to engage the people but there will be an equal or greater amount who will uphold the Oath.

Actaully that quote is not from Abraham Lincoln. It is by William J. H. Boetcker. It is called "The 10 Cannots" and even though it is not by Lincoln, the words could not be considered any less valuable. The great thing about him was he was part of the "National Commitee to Uphold a Constitutional Government." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Committee_t... which was in opposition to F.D.R.'s horrendous handling of the Depression and kept the country in debt to push his agenda. Actually if you had ever listened to Mr. Beck in the past you would know that he had and has criticized the previous administration a plethora of times. Instead you come in and make wild assumptions based on God knows what. Certainly they are not based on knowing a single thing about Glen or where he has been and where he has come from. Glen is the epitome of the American dream and to those of us who share his views know the real Glen and the principles he and obviously the majority of posters on this website share. The most lamentable fact is even though the Patriot Act may seem to enrage you and put you off your self appointed holier than thou soapbox it was in fact voted in approval by both parties and remains in place to this day. We were attacked by a vicious merciless enemy that seeks to kill us and our children at any and every opportunity. The same people who scream about said act would be screaming even louder if nothing was done and we were attacked again. And I with the utmost certainty can say if it was one of your family or friends who was the victim you would be beating the doors of the Capitol down wanting to know why nothing was done. Constitutional conventions have been circumvented just about every time we have been engaged in war. see. FDR, Wilson, Lincoln et al. Study some history learn from past experiences and grow up.
