Oh yeah, I get this. I do. I pick myself apart too.
But when I look at those pictures of YOU, I see fierce. I see a strong, determined, bad-ass mama/person. For real.
It seems like it was a long week with a lot of changes. Change is hard and I have no advice. Lol! Except to keep on keepin on sister. Sending good vibes your way. Um, I love your new hair. And that "the preschooler brought the first grader for show and tell." LOVE it.
Greta, this is so beautifully written and so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for the pain and grief you feel. You are such a survivor. And such a wonderful mother. Thank you for sharing your story. Sending so much love your way this week, and always.
Looks like such a fun birthday! She is such a cutie.
And Greta, you know I love your LTYM piece so much. Your courage, your strength, your vulnerability....you are such an amazing woman.
Poor Erv! Poor you! It's so hard to be the baby of the family. Wade has been so exhausted since the big kids got out of school. He's whining more than usual and throwing a few more fits than normal. The big kids are getting annoyed and I just remind them that he's only 3 and trying so hard to keep up.
And I agree about the holding hands in the heat, sweet until it's not. Ugh! Wade is going through a "carry me" phase and it's soooo hot.
When I saw your name pop up here on Greta's blog, I knew it was going to be good and it was. You are so brave, so strong, so inspiring, so, so...kickass and I love it. I'm glad that I met you at BlissDom too and we have connected now online.
I hate running in the heat. Ugh.
A 7:50 min mile? Girl that's amazing!!! I love that you did this and I love that you are quoting Chugginton!!!
I love that picture of Erv and the lions, it looks like he's just stanidng right next to them. Awesome shot.
I totally get this. I'm a bad friend, really bad at emailing and calling back. Ugh. Facebook has made me feel more connected to people that I've known forever which is nice. And like you, I am so grateful to have found a forever friend in my husband. Thanks for sharing.
That's what I love about unplanned summer days! And I swear bubbles never get old, they are such simple joy. I had a friend, a bit eccentric older woman, who used to blow bubbles out her window when stuck in traffic jams just for the fun of it and she said even the grumpiest person in their car would smile. Because who doesn't love bubbles!?!
Oh, I remember all the doubt I felt before running my first 10K and then my first 1/2. But I think you will surprise and amaze yourself with what you can do. Following a training program is good, but remember you can make it your own too. It's hard sometimes w/four little kids to follow a program, so don't worry too much if you don't follow it exactly. I kind of mashed up diff. programs & made my own. I am so excited for you!!! You can totally, 100 percent do this!!!
