Compare Freedom of Religion under the Islamic Cairo Declaration and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam,Aug. 5, 1990, U.N. GAOR,
World Conf. on Hum. Rts., 4th Sess., Agenda Item 5, U.N. Doc.
A/CONF.157/PC/62/Add.18 (1993)

ARTICLE 10:
Islam is the religion of true unspoiled nature. It is prohibited to exercise any form of pressure on man or to exploit his poverty or ignorance in order to force him to change his religion to another religion or to atheism.

ARTICLE 24:
All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shari'ah.

ARTICLE 25:
The Islamic Shari'ah is the only source of reference for the explanation or clarification of any of the articles of this Declaration.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Article 18 protects theistic, non-theistic and atheistic beliefs, as well as the right not to profess any religion or belief. The terms "belief" and "religion" are to be broadly construed. Article 18 is not limited in its application to traditional religions or to religions and beliefs with institutional characteristics or practices analogous to those of traditional religions. The [UN] Committee therefore views with concern any tendency to discriminate against any religion or belief for any reason, including the fact that they are newly established, or represent religious minorities that may be the subject of hostility on the part of a predominant religious community.

Don't forget Sabah and Sarawak Shell employees, including those in senior managements were mainly from Sabah and Sarawak. Petronas has a different agenda, the de-Sarawakianization of the Oil & Gas industry to ensure federal control of this valuable resources. Several ex-Sabah/Sarawak Shell senior managements are now advisors to Petronas. At the shop floor level, you can find Sarawak oil field workers in Australia (North West Shelf project), Gulf of Mexico, Brazil (Petrobras), Middle East, India, Kazakstan, North Sea including the Norwegian sector and other part of the world. It is incorrect for the minister to state that there are lack of skilled Sabahans and Sarawakians for the jobs. We have enough to run our own state oil company if the politicians decide that should be so.

Selective and inappropriate application of Sarawak's constitutional right on immigration control.
