Has this MP read the deal agreement. I wonder what his local Con association views are on it. Teresa May needs to step down now. I feel she cannot be trusted because she has not honoured her own Lancaster house speech. As I said her words do not represent the reality of the deal. She is a remainer and has obfuscated and been devious over the last two years. For the good of the country she needs to go it is painful to watch.

This is so painful to watch. I truly wish Mrs May is reconsidering her position as leader of the conservative party. She has run out of road and suggesting an extra year of transition is outrageous. Again going against her own stated red lines. Not to be trusted. Come on brexiteer MPs you need to seize the day and get those 48 votes in.

Mr Collins is my MP unfortunately. He is a remainer and is not to be trusted. I was involved heavily in the referendum and it was obvious he did not understand the reasons the local electorate voted to leave 62% to 38% . He is still saying Chequers is a good deal says it all. He does not understand that Teresa May has broken all her own red lines as stated in her Lancaster house speech. Deselection would be good in my opinion .

After giving a lot of thought to the politics going on, to be true to the referendum result the only option is Teresa May must be forced out now. Chequers is a joke she cannot be trusted . she is a remainer. She lacks the leadership skills required and is destroying the Conservative party every day she remains as leader. Her main fault is that she has not listened to her local associations and has already lost us the next election.
I will not vote Conservative as long as she is the leader. Chuck Chequers for me and leave on WTO terms

Totally agree with your arguments. Chucking Chequers is the only way to go. We must Regan our full sovereignty and control of our laws and boarders. It is a last stand for me. Teresa May must stand down and let a brexiteer lead the party and renegotiate a deal which honours the EU referendum decision to leave the EU.

My vote is for Boris Johnston. There is nothing Teresa May can say to me in her speech that will change my mind. She has lied to the electorate by trashing her own red lines outlined in her own Lancaster house speech. The sooner she realises her own position the better. I do not like the terms 'pragmatic and practical' deal where is the vision, leadership and drive. Not for me thanks.

Sorry Mr Freeman but I profoundly disagree with your opinions put forward in your article. It clearly indicates the continuing problem that MPs are still refusing to listen to the electorate which clearly voted to leave the EU. There has followed two years of obfuscation, poor leadership, confusion and a lack of planning. This has been led by Mrs May who needs to consider position. Can you please define 'one nation conservatism', I can't. Due to the disastrous Chequers deal we have now lost the next general election. The only option from where I am sitting, is to force a leadership election asap, vote in a new leader and renegotiate an FTA deal which the EU has already offered us. The electorate will not forgive the conservative party for not carrying through the biggest Democratic decision voted for in thirty years.

Totally agree with you sentiments about the the NI boarder issues. An FTA is still possible and ignored the NI issue.

My wife and I received our letters this morning. We are amazed that she has had to send a letter out to all members trying to justify the Chequers plan. Unfortunately for us the damage has already been done by a) the deceitful way she over the last 18 months sidelined David Davis the brexit minister culminating in b) the railroading through of the Chequers deal in a day and humiliation of MPs who did not agree with the Chequers Plan. We feel she is not to be trusted as our Prime Minister, has no genuine leadership skills, and no positive vision for Brexit. For us the the use of the terms a 'pragmatic and practical deal' is evidence of a lack of understanding of what voting to leave actually means. I gave her the benefit of the doubt when I heard her Lancaster House speech but the Chequers Plan crosses many red lines for me. The only option we now feel, is for a leadership election to be called ASAP because she has not fufilled her manifesto promises.
