People are screwed-up everywhere, screwed-up parents screw up their kids everywhere...I think it's the money that celebrities have more than anything else that accentuates things more than the celebrity of it. "The number of Hollywood children with serious issues seems far higher than in the general population." Well it SEEMS that way because why would the news and gossip sites broadcast Joe Blow's kids' problems?? There are THOUSANDS of various celebrities and entertainment industry folks...why aren't the numbers greater? I am no fan of much of the leniency and awful behavior of much of those folks, but I'm not so sure that it's in any greater proportion than the rest of the population.

Whether or not a person is well-versed in the history of anti-Semitism, the name, occupation and the "true" likeness of Dr. Levine seem to me to be apparently anti-Semitic, although I supposed I could see this as merely being lazy on the part of the writers and that they stole or lifted this from other source material. I have to tell you though, that I think the show is pretty lame, and if you do prefer this kind of stuff, ABC's ONCE UPON A TIME is much better.

As far as Hollywood not having any creativity, that's been a staple of the movie business since the beginning...how about remakes of Scarface? How about remakes of The Champ? What about 3:10 to Yuma? How about remakes of Heaven Can Wait and An Affair to Remember, etc etc etc. Some remakes are good (or better) than the original, some are not...it's about the execution...if it works people have no problem with it...it's only when they suck (like Sabrina - ugh) that people trot out the old trope about remakes. Given the economics of the entertainment industry, it's not surprising that they want to make this film...it;s got name recognition and a built-in audience. It think it looks decent, and if this film's success is what gives the studio or one of the stars the kind of clout to make something like Winter's Bone (just as an example), than more power to it.

"He has some moderate to liberal tendencies of gay marriage and the environment, but he’s never flip-flopped on abortion, the need for tax cuts, etc. I still find it shocking that the guy running as the liberal in the race, or at least the media accepted moderate, came up withe boldest, most conservative economic plan. His deficit reduction plan alone makes all the others look weak." You may not like some of his social views, but that in and of itself does not mean he's not a true Republican - and - many would say that his view on gay marriage (for example) shows a TRUE reflection that government should stay out of a person's life (and, btw, Cheney has the SAME opinion).
