Brave New Traveler : 5 Ways Inner Travel Helps You See Other Cultures

Yes! Fantastic article, I completely agree. As a photographer, I'm amazed at how many times we as tourists frame our shots to include the picturesque temple or the traditional dress while cutting out the satellite dishes, tourist buses, and locals Avril Lavagine t-shirts. These things are every bit as 'authentic' as the rest and are part of the 'real' story. Incidentally...didn't we go to high school together?? :)

Matador Pulse : What happens when your travel is TOO transparent...

Great thought provoking article. I've _never_ understood why people break the law and then talk to the press about it. I guess it just plays on people's desire to brag about having gotten away with it. Just goes to show, the only way to keep a secret is....big surprise...to not tell anyone! :)

Matador Trips : Cambodia Beyond Angkor Wat

The comment above about the escalating tensions between Thailand and Cambodia in the Preah Vihear regions are definitely worth considering before you go. See this CNN article http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/07/15/c... I'm not saying you it's not still possible to visit...just something you should know before attempting a trip.
