What about our founding fathers who decided they weren't going to take it anymore? Do you think they felt as if the end was near? I am sure they all had those thoughts at one time or another, but they kept fighting and doing what was right. If the world ended today, I know where I'll be and I am happy about that. Children who don't speak english should not be in school--they should be in a classroom that teaches English first. Spanish speaking people are just as capable of learning English as every other immigrant that has come into our country. Now days, they don't have to learn English, they are given a pass. Too bad the union doesn't stand up for those kinds of things now--kids not knowing English, trouble-makers in class, students not involved in the classroom. Schools have more than enough money, one of their problems is that the government runs the schools and we all know the government can operate anything effectively or efficiently. Schools should be run at the local level and Feds should stay out of it. School districts need to set their priorities straight and pay the teachers more, unfortunatly, their priorties are to have more admin. help instead of higher pay for teachers. All I have ever heard my entire life is the schools need more, no they need to use the money they have more effectively! You can't say that a salesperson shouldn't make more money than a teacher, policman, or fireman. Salespeople work for private business(businesses that make money) and the others work for government(not a business and doesn't MAKE anything-takes but doesn't make).
