Thank you for defending our church. It is way too easy to find Catholic haters out in the world.

Big Hollywood : WE LOVE PIXAR: A Monument To Creativity and Free Enterprise

Too right about the mediocre. Our rep (Jerry Costello D-Il) is the most mediocre of them all. His opponent called up a Congressman friend of her husband's and he thought Costello was new. J. Costello's been in Congress 22 years! If anyone is a bum in government, that guy is.

Big Hollywood : REVIEW: 'A-Team' Lacks A-Game

I went to see the movie last weekend after going to a Union meeting (I was tricked. I was told it was a candidate's forum.) I was tired and called up my best friend, and couldn't decide between Prince of Persia or the A-team. I told her I wanted a lot of explosions and fun. So we caught the late show at 10 and I loved it. I was actually surprised that it was after midnight when we left the theater because the two hours had gone by so fast. I mean, 1. explosions and quick over-the-top action sequences. 2. The characters were spot on. If you thought Murdock was played poorly, you've never seen Murdock. Heck, Copley even /i/sounded/-i/ like Howling Mad. 3. Bradley Cooper topless (I am a healthy adult woman after all). This movie wasn't made for everyone. It was made for fans of the A-team or of eighties action tv/movies in general. The point was over-the-top fun. And man, did it deliver.

Big Government : Scott Brown Joins Democrats to Support 'Jobs' Bill

Why? Part of supporting an individualistic society (every individual is important) is that we *don't* blame children for the parent's sins. As much as I hate seeing that bill pass, we have to consider, do we want representatives that represent or not? Because, again as much as I hate to admit it, Massachusetts voters overwhelmingly support this, and as their representative, Brown has a duty to represent their views. The ones that you should be mad at are the Democrats who are deliberately ignoring their constituents. If they did their job, we wouldn't have any reason to be worried when Scott Brown does his.

Besides, no one hires because the government say to. They hire because they need workers. People are getting laid off because there isn't demand for their work. They're not getting hired because there isn't demand for their work. Economics is supply and demand. This bill does nothing, really, to increase demand.

Big Hollywood : Day by Day: Mitt Romney and the 'Vulcan Grip'

I have to disagree on the too partisan part. Her views echo Ronald Reagan's quite nicely and he carried both an overwhelming majority of the popular votes and 49 states when he was reelected in '84. I will grant that she has little national experience, but our best presidents usually come from outside the beltway. Washington was a military man, as was Eisenhower. Lincoln only made it to state level before running for office. Reagan was a Governor as well. Her years of increasing executive power experience (business owner to School board to mayor to governor) makes her just as qualified as a great majority of presidential candidates and a lot more experienced than our current president.

I had to look Blumenthal up on wikipedia. I didn't realize that he was so well known. But reading what he's done and what he's written, how can anyone take him seriously. I think I'll use this whole fiasco as my case study for my Politics and the Media class. One of me versus 19 of them. Should be fun.

Again, that is much, much closer to Next Gen, and DS9. TOS (The Original Series) was nothing like that. I wish they could have expanded on the Federation more in the show's bible back then. Then it wouldn't have been hijacked so badly to the left in the 90s. Voyager, also, was a lot more like the original series than TNG and DS9. Probably why a lot of "Trekkies" I know don't like it. They don't much care for Kirk either. Weird.

Have you ever watched the original Star Trek? Before the PC crowd got to it and changed the last line "To boldly go where no man has gone before" to "Where no one has gone before". Very moral, very gung ho, very fun. Sounds like Sarah to me. And whaddaya know, the new, super popular, movie is based off of, and embodies the spirit of, the original series. And the PC change has lead to the line no longer making sense. People have gone to those areas of space before, the vulcans, klingons, and the native populations. But not humans. Star Trek used "man" in the traditional sense, encompassing the entirety of humanity. If the PCers who endorsed this change had any sense, they would have at least changed "man" to "human".

Yes, I'm secretly a Lesbian, completely ruled by my sexual desires for this woman who's my parents' ages. Her views on sanctity of life, foreign policy, domestic policy, etc, has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion. You have seen completely through me Lisa. I bow to your ability to discern the deep recesses of my soul despite not knowing a thing about me. Really? How else do you explain the overwhelming female support for her on our side? I think your just bitter that we conservative gals tend to be a lot better looking (Palin v Pelosi, for example)

Big Government : The Insignificance of the CPAC Straw Poll

I think this was an obvious case of a split vote. Palin and Romney may have each drawn smaller numbers than Paul, but<i/> a better indicator would have been a direct comparison poll, one where you rank who you'd rather have 1, 2, 3. Many voters would prefer Romney and Palin over Paul, but as their personal preference leads them to one over the other, the vote was split. Paul may in all likelihood be the least popular on the ballot. Run head to head, Palin and Romney run individually against him would probably pull double digit leads. The fact of the matter is, two candidates similar on many foreign and domestic policies of course would lose against an opponent who was vastly different.

I read the article. It was fairly incoherent. Every new line I was waiting for the big racist reveal, the stereotypes we're relying on. I thought there was going to be a stereotyping of B. Obama, but it never came. Instead I get a passing comment about someone sounding like Chris Rock. I've listened to Chris Rock too. Have at least one of his comedy albums on my computer. If anything, he's got less of a Brooklyn accent. Besides, if we wanted to make fun of anyone's way of speaking, wouldn't the president himself be a better target? Um... Uh.... uh...

Religion is so little talked about, that it took me three years at my University before I learned that Ash Wednesday is primarily a catholic thing (all catholic schooling before college). No one talks about religion until completely confronted, and even then, even if both participants are being reasonable and enjoying themselves, someone outside the conversation always demands that it ends.
