In just about every case, the Modern Liberal will choose the wrong course of action. They work to make things "equal" by tearing down everything that is good, successful and right while elevating everything that is evil failed and wrong. On the other hand, normal people work to make things better. So in their Orwellian brains, killing babies is okay and protecting criminals is okay. Also, this is why they are always talking about population control. They really hate people and, at this level of thinking, it's people vs the pristine environment so they work to kill off people. Yes, I agree. I explain them this way: Normal people work to make things better and these Modern Liberals/Progressives work differently. Their imperative is to force everything to be "equal". If everything was "equal", they think all of our societal problems will go away. In other words, we are dealing with people with a fundamental different belief system. Our logic bounces off them because our system works to make things better and they hate it! One of the things I do with liberals is to focus on how their ideas make things better. they squirm because their ideas are not designed to make things better. This is why I think Evan's talks are so important. I used to question my thinking years ago because, like you, many of my lefty friends are smart. No more. Now I know that their root logic for just about everything is wrong. It makes it a lot easier to debate them. Very good video. 9/11 really didn't pause the Left's attack on everything that is "good, right and successful" (as Evan says), it just caused them to adapt. Like I said, try to watch that video. To me, it's key for us to understand WHY liberals are like they are. They think they are helping.

They're trying to create another Perot situation, but not many people will fall for it. More and more people realize that a "moderate" means nothing (literally) and that it is clear that one direction is better than the other. Conservatives want things better and Liberals want things "equal". Not only can't you have both, it's clear that "equal" is not better - whether or not people can explain it.

I agree 100%. Most normal people fall for them every time. I'm slowly learning myself, but it sucks to have to think about people being Modern Liberals/Progressives (My term - from Evan Sayet's work and connecting to the Progressives of the 1920's/30's.) This is why I think one of our biggest tasks is to expose them. I think ot it like we're in the early stages of dealing with cancer: we know it's bad, but we don't have good nomenclature and systems in place to advance. Little by little, we're getting there, but even agreeing on a name for them is difficult: "liberals", "statists", "Socialists", "Modern Liberals", "Progressives", etc. If you haven't seen them, watch those Evan Sayet videos I linked "above." One more thing: I agree with your observations about Jonah Goldberg and Andrew. I have been much more bold myself with these people, but it's because of me now knowing what makes them tick. Those videos helped a lot.

Deana, what you are saying about Conservatives being sort of naive is what I've been saying for a long time. We never knew what hit us because how could rational minds contemplate the existence of these Modern Liberals/Progressives???? I think one of the most important tasks we Conservatives face is to understand how they think and how they think they are helping. (...because they do think they are helping in the long run.) One other thing: These types of liberals think they are helping. You have to reverse engineer them to understand why, but this is why our logic (no matter how carefully thought out) bounces off them. You are right, but ONLY if you assume the liberals use the same belief system that we do. We've been showing the liberale evidence and using logic and reason for decades and they never get it. The things that we think are important are hated by the left. No amount of logic will work because, quite simply, they have a different belief system. We work "towards the better", we seek the truth. They don't work like this. They work to force things to be "equal" so they need to tear down "the better", success, etc. We're trying to make things better and they hate it! For me, the knowledge of why liberals are like they are is very freeing. We on the Right assume the liberals will get our logic, but it's really impossible because they use a different belief system. We're trying to make thing better and they're trying to make things "equal". Our logic has bounced off them for DECADES - and it's our fault because we assumed they would respond to normal logic. We're not dealing with stupid people so it behooves us to understand where they are coming from so we can work to undermine them.
