CastleMania : HonestGamers reviews Vampire Killer for MSX

I have it on an emulator, it is a difficult game right from the start. The zombies run at you non stop once you enter the castle, you kill one and then another shows up. It is different from Castlevania though, different castle layout, and you go room to room. Its too bad they never released it in the U.S.

CastleMania : Castlevania Retrospective Volume IV covers handheld episodes

Wow these videos are amazing, I didn't know they existed. I got a free download of Symphony of the Night for Playstation Network when I bought Lords of Shadow, and its funny that even though I have beaten SOTN several times already, I went ahead and already beat this free copy of SOTN, even though Lords of Shadow is a brand new game. I guess I just dont care for the 3D Castlevania games as much. Now I am going to replay all the GBA and DS games after watching this video. I will start with Circle of the Moon.

CastleMania : Konami Classics Vol 1 remains surprisingly dark

I just played both to compare them, actually the controller is not that bad, I can get used to it. But the color is different on the Xbox version in a bad way, at least on my TV. It was under the enhanced graphics which made the characters look a little too colored, and I switched to original and it did not look better than the Playstation version. Plus the instruction manual for the new one sucks. For me, I dont have a need to play the Xbox one, I am fine with the original. But like I said before, I still recommend this game for people who dont have access to the original one from 1997.

CastleMania : Konami Classics Vol 1 remains surprisingly dark

I bought it when it came out along with Volume 2. My original plan was to play Symphony of the Night again on the Xbox, however I could immediately tell this was a ported game. I have played SOTN so many times on the Playstation that I notice little differences. This one mainly had a few minor differences in color, and the screen just seemed different, it must have been the way it was ported. Also I was disappointed to see that the intro screen was not the same as the Playstation version, but that is expected since its a newer version of the game. The gameplay is the same since this is a direct port, but it did not feel right to me since I was not playing on a Playstation controller. I dont subscribe to Xbox Live so I have no idea what you can do online with this game. When you play Xbox games and reach certain achievements that have to do with Xbox Live you get these little pop ups telling you that, and seeing those while playing SOTN just did not feel right. Dont get me wrong though, this is still a decent version for only $20, especially since SOTN costs so much on Ebay. But for someone like me that loves SOTN and thought the original version was perfect, and am used to playing it on a Playstation controller, I did not care for this one as much. It made me want to play SOTN again on the Playstation, which I probably will do before spring. I recommend this game for people who dont have the original game or dont have a Playstation/PS2. You still get to see how great SOTN is. Super Contra (aka Super C) and Frogger are also on this disc, they are arcade versions. Volume 2 comes with Contra, Rush N' Attack and Track N Field. Volume 2 also costs $20 which makes that one a complete ripoff. At least on Volume 1 you get SOTN, but for Konami to only include 3 games on each volume makes me think this wont be a good seller, except for the people who want SOTN.

CastleMania : Is Konami making a Castlevania compilation for Wii and PSP?

Well 2011 is the 25th anniversary from the original Japan release in '86, so perhaps we will get something special then. They released Castlevania Chronicles in 2001 for the 15th year so I expect something in 2011, but hopefully a big compilation and not just 1 or 2 games.

CastleMania : Is Konami making a Castlevania compilation for Wii and PSP?

This sounds too good to be true. Although look how many compilation games were on the PS2. Capcom Classics Collection Vol 1 and 2, Megaman, Street Fighter, SNK Anthology, A few different Sonic Compilations, at least 2 Sega Genesis Compilations. Its about time they do one for Castlevania. I would like to see the 3 NES games, Super CV4, Rondo of Blood, SOTN, all 3 GBA games, and I guess they would probably put Lament on there too.

CastleMania : Konami retcons Death into Adventure in its Rebirth

I just bought this today, great game. I wonder if there will be a way to get the images of all the enemies, it may be hard since this is a Wii game. I see it has a saving option, but how do you select your saved game? I saved it on level 2, then when I started over all I saw was "start game" and "options". And under "start game" is began from the beginning again.

CastleMania : Can anyone identify this Castlevania CD for me?

No I dont have the CD but I have scans of the Aria/Dawn of Sorrow Soundtrack Manual. They are not on my site, I might add them. But looking at the scan above I can see the insert photo through the clear part on the left side of the CD case and its the same tan color from the scans I have. This is an official soundtrack which was released in Japan around 2005.

You are correct, the person has the booklet backwards. This soundtrack is for both Aria and Dawn of Sorrow, with AOS as the front cover page of the manual, and DOS as the back cover page.

CastleMania : Famitsu article drops a handful of details about Castlevania: the Adventure Rebirth

I didnt even think about an instruction manual. I doubt Konami will make a manual or strategy guide for this game, but at least we are getting a new Castlevania game released this year for us spoiled fans who require a new game every year. There has been at least one new Castlevania game every year since 2001 (even though 2006 was just the GBA Double Pack). We are already covered next year with Lords of Shadow, and I assume a new DS game will be released in 2010 or 2011.

CastleMania : The Castlevania Collection ends here

The only versions of the original Castlevania game I have are the NES and Game Boy Advance port, and also Chronicles but that was a total remake. I have never played any of the other versions for the original game, and I do not know if they are worth the price it costs to buy them. The great thing about the Game Boy Advance version is that you can save on it.

CastleMania : Dracula X Chronicles (Greatest Hits) on sale now at Amazon

I bought the PSP because of this game, I like the game but there really are not that many other PSP games out there that I want. They already ported several PSP games to the PS2 like Silent Hill Origins and those PSP Grand Theft Auto games. I do have the cords to play the PSP on the TV, but it does not take up the entire screen. PS2 is not dead yet, mainly because the PS3 is so expensive. There are still a lot of PS2 games coming out this quarter, including a Silent Hill remake. Also I noticed that several games that are made for the PS3 & Xbox 360 also make a PS2 version still. I switched to Xbox 360 instead of PS3 for this current generation because of the price difference, and I dont need a BluRay. I am glad that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is also going to be on the Xbox.
