Ragamuffin Soul : You're Growing? Well, She's Dying.

Amen. I hate that in more American churches than not on Sunday mornings (at least in my experience) pastors are sharing cute, funny anecdotes or life lessons instead of the gospel of Christ and the Word. We need to hear the gospel every single Sunday regardless of where we are in our walk with the Lord, and then we need to live it out every single day. I think we also need to take the Great Commission seriously and be intentional about being in relationship with non-believers. If we're at church every other day, we're probably not encountering that many new potential members.

Ragamuffin Soul : Are We Relevant Enough?

Relationships--Los, you're right; that's the key. And as we connect with non-believers (and of course other believers) and form relationships, we can listen to them and perhaps share the gospel in a contextualized (or relevant) way that helps the person hear it more clearly or understand it in a way she hasn't before. But nothing speaks more loudly than actions...loving someone right where she is. People need love and hope--they need Jesus; I've never heard anyone (except maybe a judge or opposing counsel) say they needed relevance.

Hmm....maybe each have a credit card (which you'd obviously pay off through the joint account), which would at least give you 30-45 days of no spousal knowledge....
