"Gov. Timothy Kaine of Virginia has affirmed his support for a new statewide policy under which state troopers serving as chaplains will not be allowed to pray "in Jesus name," explaining that he can pray "without mentioning Jesus."

So, it appears as if Governor Kaine is fine with prayer to your God as long as you don't mention Christianity. ”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

I guess I won't get the chance to meet Mr. Kaine.

The world's super powers are in economic despair. You don't have to be a historian to know how economies get repaired by military machines.

What!? You don't equate guns with freedom because their inanimate objects? What kind of free country do you think you'd be living in today if our forefathers didn't have guns?

Geez man. That's at least one thing the news gets right every night. When was the last time you read or heard about a crime going down with a police officer there when it happened. There's a reason why they are called First Responders. You are more likely than a police officer to be a victim of a violent crime. Last I checked nobody was mugging, kidnapping robbing at gun point or car jacking the police.

I personally don't care about winning elections or growing parties. In fact, given the selection at the polls and the group currently in place on both sides of the aisle, I'd say it's time to clean house and start over anyway.

I fail to see why they're messing with existing laws anyway. Truly, where is the value in writing gun control legislation? If the fear is that criminals will gain access to a weapon and commit a crime, then let's just fully enforce the laws on the books for that crime.

Jack - A firearm is a tool that projects either single or multiple projectiles at high velocity through a controlled explosion. The firing is achieved by the gases produced through rapid, confined burning of a propellant. This process of rapid burning is technically known as deflagration. In older firearms, this propellant was typically black powder, but modern firearms use smokeless powder, cordite, or other propellants. Most modern firearms (with the notable exception of smoothbore shotguns) have rifled barrels to impart spin to the projectile for improved flight stability.

I wouldn't recommend an M-60. The 7.62x51 ammo is a little hard to find and it weighs approximately 23 pounds. I would suggest something a little lighter for self defense.
