9 to 5 Mac | Apple Intelligence : Windows 8 tablet gets previewed

Despite having developed a significant dislike for most MS products as a result of using them for many years there are actually a number of features which look quite nice. The touch interface looks massively clunky however... do you notice the constant difficulty they have getting things to move and pull in from the side? It's going to be a very difficult balancing act between a "busy" UI and something simple enough to be touch-friendly.

Please read the text at the top of the page. This is early-stage testing with the amount of variables being kept as low as possible for consistency. There won't be a Windows version until MN has decided things are stable enough for a more generalised release. Alternatively, you know that they say... once you go Mac you never go back. Time for an upgrade?

Select your current firmware at the first screen, you'll then be prompted for the b3 firmware when you select the untether at the next screen.

'fraid not. Your phone is specific to your carrier, so other carriers couldn't unlock it even if they wanted to. It's all in the serial numbers etc...

It's done remotely. IMEI number of the phone is added to Apple's database and magically unlocks at next sync with iTunes. Jailbreak will be unaffected.

That idiot couldn't write an unlock if his life depended on it. He's a 14yr old schoolboy who knows nothing whatsoever about programming. He can manage some elementary VB; in-depth C and assembler programming is a whole different matter. This is why if (and it's a VERY big if) he has managed to crash the baseband, he needs to pass the information to someone who can use it. He's an attention-seeking kid who's out of his depth.

I states VERY VERY CLEARLY on the iClarified site that the links are direct to the original firmware from Apple's download servers. I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate baseband issue, but there's only one person to blame here, and unfortunately it's yourself.

No. There won't. For many reasons, not least that pwnage levers components of OSX which are not present in Windoze. Another reason is that Cocoa is a pleasure to code in.

Why don't you buy a Mac? Windows is all a bit 20th century, dontyathink? C'mon.... if you can afford an iPhone, you can afford a little Mac Mini. Or should I say.... your mom can.

"Someone" is lying. It doesn't work in Windoze. If you want to use PT, you have 2 choices: 1. Buy a proper computer, or 2) Get OSX running in VMware. Google will tell you how to do the latter. Or you can take your chances and download an ispw from the web.

Sorry to say that only a very few people can use FuzzyBand. Those people are the ones who bought their iPhones very shortly after release. The vast majority do not have phones with the necessary vulnerability to use FuzzyBand. If you're going to play the unlock game, you need to assume that Apple/iTunes are out to f*ck you over every time a new firmware release comes out. Disable iTunes update checking, and always read this blog before you even think about updating. A bit "after the fact" but it can't be said often enough.

If you don't want to buy yourself a better computer, you either need to wait for someone else to do the job for you (and trust their ipsw file), or investigate other options like VMware. It's perfectly possible to run OSX as a guest on a Windoze or Linux machine and interface as necessary to your iPhone.

Incorrect. Old firmware + new baseband = ok. New firmware + old baseband = not ok. Are you in the USA? Trying to use T-Mobile? Their 3G service runs on different frequencies than AT&T (and the rest of the civilised world). You will NEVER get 3G running on T-Mobile USA because the phone hardware doesn't support it. Turn 3G off.

3GS has the same baseband version, so should be perfectly unlockable by UltraSn0w. The problem is that UltraSn0w requires a jailbroken phone, and the 3GS cannot be jailbroken at this time.

Personally I think helmets like you should be specifically prohibited from using Ultrasnow. If they released it now and it had bugs, you'd bitch like hell. If they iron the creases out of it and you have to wait a couple of days, you'll bitch like hell. Show some respect for those with technical skills immeasurably superior to yours. Imbecile.
