Tried listening to it synched along with Dynamite like you suggested: It's like there's a party on my screen!

What it Takes : What it Takes, by KEZ. A SpiderForest comic.

I'm actually really enjoying the journey parts of the story, even more than the action-y bits!

Well, that's...a bit sudden, and somewhat depressing. This comic was one of my favorites...

http://www.calamitiesofnature.com/ : Calamities of Nature - Ten Years Later

I was agreeing with how priorities seem to be so skewed. As the graph states, the threat of cancer is considerably bigger than the threat of terrorist attacks, yet a significantly larger amount of money seems to be spent on the wars (the purpose of which was stated to be to combat terrorists/neutralize threats/whatever) than on cancer research.

If someone did grow up on a deserted island, he/she might still take blue as "calm" due to a calm blue sky...but white/gray would be more of the "noise" color, being the color of lightning, and the clouds which signal an incoming storm (and the color of seagulls, if they're native to the island, which they probably wouldn't be I guess).

I agree, though science also has a puzzle-solving aspect to it, from what I've seen of it. So it's art and a game at the same time!

If you have more than 50% of a shredded/destroyed bill, you can get it exchanged at face value: <a href="http://www.moneyfactory.gov/section.cfm/8/39" target="_blank">http://www.moneyfactory.gov/section.cfm/8/39 So as long as he hangs on to those scraps he can still get his money back! Edit: though he'd probably have to go through his local bank first (since each fragment is less than 50%), and maybe assemble the pieces like a jigsaw puzzle...

It also has to do with their behavior, too: squirrels bound around and tend to keep their distance from humans, whereas rats scurry from place to place and do whatever the heck they feel like. That's another factor...and yeah, the bubonic plague probably has had at least a small effect on our collective mindset, I guess?

http://www.calamitiesofnature.com/ : Calamities of Nature - Blog Archive: My Eighties Cartoon Education

It's not from the eighties, but my most vivid memory of learning something (first one that came to mind) from a cartoon was from an episode of "The Tick" in which Arthur gave a description of aspirin's origins and chemical composition. I found that part on Youtube (It starts about 4 minutes into the video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfw1Qqdc2ww&fe... I got confused at some point though, and thought that the willow leaf shown was a feather. When I showed off my new "knowledge" to my mom, she quickly corrected me...it was an embarrassing moment.
