Naissa's Rage : We sure are a complainy lot aren't we?

I sit on both sides of the fence here.... My main is a tauren prot warrior who is slowly gathering Ulduar kit. To him this change is minor, as these badges were available to him anyway. My alts however, (only got 1 other 80 but 3 other toons in Northrend), are quite pleased by the prospect. They'll be able to get to raiding-capable levels of kit without the mammoth grind that my warrior had to do. I can see what might have some poeple throwing toys out of their prams, but they need to realise that is exactly what they are doing.

Naissa's Rage : Whoa whoa whoa! Stop the presses!

Forgive me for paraphrasing here but I would assume the following: 1 - Your class will dictate which race you can switch to. For example if you were an Alliance warrior that would give you the choice of any Horde race except Blood Elves upon faction switch (as there is no such class for Belfs) 2 - Shame on you for wanting to stop being a Tauren. Beef-head meat-shields ftw! 3 - As mentioned above I'd guess it means no faction-specific achievements, titles or items can be transferred. I'll be interested to see how this pans out, although personally for me I made the switch from Alliance to Horde about 3 years ago (re-rolled on another server), so I cant see me switching back

Naissa's Rage : I shall call him Shield and he shall be mine.

I'm guessing you've got a fairly 'ninja' PC. All settings at max? What resolution do you run at? I recently spent a fair wedge on my box, and got myself a nice 32" Samsung flatscreen to play it all on. I really should be taking more screenies, cos looking at yours it shows what a good system can produce. Maybe I just spend too long vegitating in front of it to think of stuff like this :(

Naissa's Rage : A Short Story.

I too love Naxx, but the fun really starts slipping away when you add the dreaded 'pug factor'. Now, dont get me wrong, I've grouped with some pretty awesome pug in my time, but in all honesty they are few and far between. Patch: This isnt really a 'hard' fight, and its probably one of the easiest to tank (on the understanding the healers can keep up!). My biggest woes on Patch were when I first starting raiding Naxx, was designated to be the MT as at the time the other tank had waaaaaay more HP than me, but, being a prot warrior and him being an úber-kitted pally he out-threated me at the drop of the hat and our roles were switched within about 5 seconds of pulling. Fortunately we no longer have this issue and the guild run Patch fights we have a generally a doddle. Either way, I can sympathise with your plight. Oh, and not to rub it in, but I got Last Laugh on my first Naxx 25 (outrolled the Pally and laughed heartily in Vent - PS: the Pally is also our guild leader, so the victory was even more sweet!)

Naissa's Rage : Speaking of Healers...

Just got my mage 80 now as well. Looks like my guild have specifically planned an 'Alt Raid' night to Naxx this weekend where the more established players give up a little free time to help get some upgrades for those less fortunate. Luckily I was given a definate spot as I *always* end up tanking so they decided it was only fair to give me the night off! :)

We had a similar scenario recently too. An old mate of mine joined our guild on his pally as on OT and we helped him through his first ever Naxx-10. In all fairness to the guy he was raid def-capped before entering, with various player-crafted epics and the tanking weapon from the Argent tournament, but a lot of kit was kinda scraping the barrell. Fortunately for him this was a guild run so few of us needed anything at all, ( least of all the tanking kit! /flex ) and he walked out of there with some shoulders and a nice new cloak to replace some of his blues.

Being a prot warrior myself I've had my fair share of experiences with different healers. Gotta agree that a tree is by far the most entertaining to watch, and on some boss fights their HoTs make life so much easier. Close second for me would be a well geared shammy. We did a heroic DKT guild run for the daily last night with a shammy healer and completed the whole thing in just over 14 minutes. Awesome healing and no stopping to eat / drink. All the above in mind however you are right that there are no 'bad' healing classes, just unskilled / poorly kitted players, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right?

Naissa's Rage : You know that one log-in screen tip?

We had a similar experience in Naxx 25 recently. 21 out of the 25 were from our guild and we were forced to PUG the last 4. Due to the addition of PUGgers we laid down very simple loot rules at the start: - Main spec before Off spec - You can only win 1 item per boss - If you need more than 1 item from a boss and the dice weren't in your favour for the first item roll, you can roll on the 2nd. - In theory you *could* find a need roll and win an item from every boss (maybe if you bathe in 4-leaf clovers and sh*t leprechauns). As it happens our guild members hoovered up a lot of loot (fair and square I might add), however there was one PUG DK in the group who was having real issues with his dice and didnt win a thing up as far as Saph. Despite clearly knowing the loot rules and just being really, really unlucky on his rolls he decided that this was not fair and quit the 'PUG of fail' as he called it. This was pretty stupid IMHO as although there had been 1 or 2 deaths by this point there had not been a single wipe. I guess he was thinking he deserved a free loot for coming with us, and had he rolled in double figures at least once that night he might have actually left with some purple pixels. On the plus side it did mean that he stopped whispering the RL every few mins to complain. Needless to say he was added to the guild's 'Idiot List' forevermore to be tarnished by the 'Do not PUG with this R-Tard' brush.
