On one hand, I am so thrilled that that campus is being put to use. It's a gorgeous, magical location and is perfect for students. But man, all the talent out there and only 11 out of the 29 people involved are women or identify as women? And only 1 out of the 4 on the principal team? Seriously, they can't do better than 25 - 30% for a college that is explicitly for women?

Yep.

A childhood spent eating mostly from the food bank and the handout line has left me with, among other things, a strong aversion to salmon loaf, Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream, and stewed tomatoes.

I still clear my plate, and have to consciously remind myself that there's always more food, good food, that I can eat if I get hungry later.

And while I do buy discount yogurt and eat beans and rice, you can bet your ass it's organic fancypants yogurt and heirloom beans.

We learned ours from "Revival in Belfast" (some worship album) and from this super wingnutty group called Morningstar that was all about those sweet sweet end time prophecies.

REBECCA IS SO GOOD. Movie sidebar: I re-watched it a few months ago and had the thought that Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein was an homage to Danvers. It makes me happy to think that possibly Mel Brooks is a fan of du Maurier.

Anyway, the Ruth Wilson adaption is really wonderful, although Toby Stephens is way too hot.

I definitely still do walking lunges with my 8 year old son on my back. it's perfect! he thinks it's amazing and my butt is looking mighty fine.
