As of late I'm also mostly a lurker, would I be able to get in on this as well, please? After all the excited posts by people here, I'd love to get the chance to read it.

Besides the Harry Potter books, Ella Enchanted was my favourite book when I was a kid. I have it in braille, and the dots are extremely flattened from all the times I read it. I'm so glad you are going to read it!

I did a little bit of research and have found several people asking N. K. Jemisin if The Kingdom of Gods will be an audio book and she has replied that she has no control over it and that it probably won't happen. I might still mention it on Mark Reads, but I don't think it will get me anywhere. At least I have the braille copy to read, and will be able to listen to Mark read it when he gets to it.

No one is prepared!

I went immediately to download the next book from audible.com and THEY DON’T HAVE IT! It wasn’t made into an audiobook! Grrrrrr. :( I did manage to find it in braille, but I wish I could have listened to it as the narration was quite good in the other books.

-They didn’t have the parts to fix the ship so they used the crew.
-One more part is required to fix the ship. The part is from Reinette.
-“Why specifically her?” “We are the same.”
-The Doctor named the horse Arthur. “”No, you are not keeping the horse.” “I let you keep Mickey. Now go go go!”
-The Doctor is looking inside her mind for what the clock creature things are looking for.
-She’s 23 and that’s not old enough.
-Reinette is seeing into The Doctor’s mind as well.
-“Doctor. Doctor who? It’s more than just a secret, isn’t it?” “What did you see?” “There comes a time, Time Lord, when every lonely little boy must learn how to dance.”
-Rose was captured by the clock creatures and is now strapped to a table. Mickey is there too. Where’s Arthur?
-The Doctor has arrived, singing.
-“I think I just invented the banana daiquiri a couple of centuries early. Do you know they'd never even seen a banana before? Always take a banana to a party, Rose. Bananas are good.”
-The ship is 37 years old, and the clock creatures are waiting until Reinette is 37 because they think only then will her brain be compatible.
-The clock creature says Reinette is now compatible.
-The Doctor deactivates the creatures.
-The windows into the 18th century won’t close.
-That is because one of the creatures is still out with Reinette.
-The deactivated clock people become active again.
-“She is complete, it begins.”
-The clock people vanish.
-Rose warns Reinette that the clock people will arrive in five years on some date.
-“It’s the way it’s always been. The monsters and the doctor. Seems you can’t have one without the other.”
-Reinette gets on to the ship.
-There’s screaming.
-“You and I both know, don’t we Rose, that the Doctor is worth the monsters.”
-They are at the ball. The clock creatures are herding the guests.
-The Doctor is working frantically in front of a view screen that looks down on the ball.
-Reinette tells the clock creatures that she won’t go with them.
-Arthur smashes the mirror above the fireplace and the Doctor rides into the ball room.
-“What the hell is going on?” “Oh, this is my lover, the king of France.” “Yeah? Well I’m the lord of time.”
-The time window the Doctor smashed through is bricked up.
-The clock work man is pressing the switch that activates the teleport but it isn’t working.
-The clock work people just stop working and fall over?
-“In saving me you trapped yourself.”
-When the mirror broke it severed all the links between the ship and Versailles.
-Reinette leads the Doctor to her room where the fireplace from her old bedroom is.
-It was offline when the mirror broke because she severed the link when she moved it.
-He successfully goes back through the fireplace to the ship.
-The Doctor tells Reinette to pack a bag and that he’ll be back.
-He was gone from the ship for 5 and a half hours. “Right, always wait five and a half hours.”
-He goes back through the fireplace, and meets the King… I think…. Yes it is him.
-He gives the Doctor a letter from Reinette.
-The Doctor sees the carriage with Reinette’s body leaving.
-Aww it’s so sad. 
-“You alright?” “I’m always alright.” Awww
-“Hurry though my love.”
-The Doctor cuts the final link with Reinette’s bedroom.
-The ship is the SS Madame De Pompadour.

Awww it’s all so sad. I did enjoy the episode. I always love the ones where they go back in time. The Doctor’s acting was great, and I did actually tear up a bit at the end. It was also nice to see Rose act more maturely about The Doctor liking another woman. Also, apparently the clock creature things are terrifying? I don’t even know what they look like. The narration only mentioned that they wear black shoes or something IDK. Also also David Tennant is starting to grow on me!

2x4: The Girl in the Fireplace

-I’ve had several people tell me that this is their absolute favourite episode ever and I better like it or else. I’m scared now that I won’t like it as much as other people do.
-Crickets are chirping, but now there’s much screaming.
-We are in a chateau at a eighteenth century masquerade ball.
-“We are under attack. There are creatures. I don’t even think they’re human. We can’t stop them.”
-“There is a man coming to Versailles. He has watched over me my whole life and he will not dessert me tonight.” “What are you talking about? What man?” “The only man save you I have ever loved. No, don’t look like that, there’s no time. You have your duties, I am your mistress. Go to your queen. Are you there? Can you hear me? I need you now, you promised. The clock on the mantel is broken, it is time. Doctor! Doctor!”
-Three thousand years later, The TARDIS has arrived aboard a slowly rotating space craft.
-“It’s a spaceship. Brilliant! I got a spaceship on my first go.”
-The spaceship seems deserted, but all the warp engines are going full capacity. “There’s enough power running through this ship to punch a hole in the universe. We’re not moving.”
-There’s an “ornate eighteenth century fireplace” in the spaceship.
-The Doctor is talking to a girl in Paris 1727 through the fireplace. How does this work exactly? Can he see her through the fire? The narration is truly horrible.
-“Must be a spatio-temporal hyperlink.” “What’s that?” “No idea. Just made it up. Didn’t want to say “magic door”.”
-The Doctor activates something and the area around the fireplace revolves and he is now in Reinette’s bedroom.
-According to Reinette, it is months since The Doctor talked to her through the fireplace.
-There’s a clock on the mantel that’s broken, but there’s a loud ticking noise.
-“That’s not a clock. You can tell by the resonance. Too big. Six feet I’d say, the size of a man.”
-The music is kind of scaring me…
-There’s some sort of creature under Reinette’s bed.
-The creature has been scanning Reinette’s brain. It doesn’t want her yet because she is “incomplete.”
-“Just a nightmare, Reinette. Don’t worry about it. Everyone has nightmares. Even monsters from under the bed have nightmares.” “What do monsters have nightmares about?” “Me.”
-Somehow The Doctor gets the clockwork creature back to the spaceship. Seriously, the narration in this episode is useless.
-“It would be an act of vandalism to disassemble you.” *creature vanishes*
-The Doctor goes back through the magic door.
-Rose and Mickey are going off to find the clockwork creature on the spaceship.
-Reinette is now a “beautiful young woman”.
-“It is customary, I think, to have an imaginary friend only during one’s childhood. You are to be congratulated on your persistence.”
-Uh… Reinette is suddenly passionately kissing The Doctor.
-Reinette is Madame De Pompadour.
-“Who the hell are you?” “I’m The Doctor, and I just snogged Madame De Ponpadour.”
-“Rose? Mickey? Every time! Every time! It’s rule one. “Don’t wander off.” I tell them, I do. Rule one. There could be anything on this ship.” *sees horse*
-There’s an eye in a camera, and a human heart beating in a tunnel lined with cables.
-The Doctor and the horse are walking through the ship. They go through a door and enter a garden where Reinette is talking to a friend about becoming Louis XV’s mistress.
-“What’s a horse doing on a spaceship?” “Mickey, what’s pre-revolutionary France doing on a spaceship? Get a little perspective.”
-“A spaceship from the 51st century stalking a woman from the 18th.”
-That night there will be a ball when Reinette meets the king.
-There’s a ticking figure behind Reinette.
-The Doctor freezes the clock man with a fire extinguisher.
-It’s a repair droid.

Aerintrep Watches Doctor Who with Descriptive Video

*Waves* Hi. It has been a while. I’ve been super busy with University. Why must it take all the time for fun things out of my life? I had a few hours free today so I thought I’d watch another episode of Dr. Who since I haven’t watched any for about six months.

Starting at 2x4. Plain text spoilers below.

This book is so weird, and I am so very confused.

A note to David Wong though you will probably not read this so make it a general public service announcement:
“Guide dog” or “service dog” not “seeing eye dog”. (I still love you Mira Grant for getting this right)
There is a guide dog school in New Jersey called The Seeing Eye, and it is from this name that many people come to call guide dogs seeing eye dogs. Though even The Seeing Eye’s website refers to their dogs as guide dogs.

YOU GUYS! There’s a character that is visually impaired in this story and she isn’t characterized as being completely helpless or having supernatural abilities. My god, I love you Mira Grant, but if her guide dog amplifies and eats her I will never recover. I’m off to go hug my own guide dog now and tell him he’s a good dog.

Also, I’m so glad Mira Grant and you all are calling Unis a guide dog. So many people don’t know that that’s the proper term.

-The Krillitanes overheard and know that The Doctor is a Time Lord.
-The next day, Rose and Sarah are going to look at the computer hardware, The Doctor is going to confront Mr. Finch, and Mickey and K9 are surveillance.
-“Don’t forget to leave the window open a crack.” “But he’s metal.” “I didn’t mean for him.”
-The Doctor confronts Mr. Finch at the swimming pool. Mr. Finch won’t reveal his plan, and challenges The Doctor to figure it out. He says that The Doctor will want to join him after he does. He says that they aren’t enemies.
-Rose and Sarah are jealous of each other.
-“Mummies.” “I met ghosts.” “Robots, lots of robots.” “Slitheen in Downing Street.” “Daleks.” “Met the Emperor.” “Antimatter monsters.” “Gas mask zombies.” “Real, living dinosaurs.” “Real living werewolf.” “The Loch Ness Monster.”
-And now they are bonding over there shared experiences with The Doctor’s habits.
-The students are being called in from recess early, and the staff are called into the staff room where they are eaten.
-The sonic screw driver can’t open the computer because it has a deadlock seal.
-Mr. Finch has closed all the entrances to the school.
-Mickey asks K9 to get him into the school. K9 replies that they are in a car.
-The Krillitanes are trying to crack the “skasis paradigm” which would put time and space and energy at their control.
-The oil is making the kids smarter.
-The paradigm can only be broken by the imagination of children…
-Mr. Finch is trying to tempt The Doctor into joining the Krillitanes as a god.
-“I could save everyone.” “Yes.” “I could stop the war.” “No. The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss—they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it’s a world or a relationship, everything has its time, and everything ends.”
-The Doctor smashes the computer.
-Mickey breaks in by smashing the doors with his car.
-The Krillitanes are chasing The Doctor, Sarah Jane, Rose and Mickey.
-K9 has arrived and is shooting red beams at the Krillitanes.
-Kenny smashes a fire alarm with his elbow which distracts the Krillitanes long enough for The Doctor and gang to be able to run past and get to the kitchen.
-The oil is poisonous to the Krillitanes.
-Mickey is trying to collect the other students but they’re in trances.
-He unplugs the computers which releases them from their trances. They flee.
-K9 is sacrificing himself. He’s going to shoot the barrel of oil so it explodes onto the Krillitanes.
-“You bad dog.” “Affirmative.” aww
-The kids are cheering Kenny for his role in blowing up the school.
-The Doctor offers Sarah Jane the chance to travel with him again. She declines. “I can’t do this anymore.”
-AFLJSDKFDALSJKFSDKLJAFKJDSLA!!!! MICKEY IS GOING WITH THE DOCTOR AND ROSE!!!!!!!!!
-Rose why are you looking disgruntled at the thought of Mickey joining you??? WHY??? Ugh.
-“Some things are worth getting your heart broken for.”
-“Say it please. It’s time. Say it.” “Goodbye, my Sarah Jane.” Awww hugs
-Awwwwwwww there’s a new K9!

While the plot of this episode felt rushed in places and seemed to be cobbled together with chewing gum and duct tape in other places, there were definitely elements I enjoyed. It was very interesting to see a former companion of The Doctor. It was interesting to see how other companions deal with being left behind. I never really thought about what happened to the other companions or what’s going to happen to Rose. K9 is a wonderful character. It was good to see Mickey again, and I’m so glad he’s going to be finally travelling with Rose and The Doctor!
