The most alarming aspect of that linked post is the claim that Madigan received the highest vote total in the election immediately preceding the post. All of Hoboken needs to support Ailene McGuirk (#4) for Hoboken Board of Education. Voting for McGuirk must also be everyone's TOP priority in the voting booth, since only the top three vote getters become new members and Tom K. has positioned Madigan to again be a top vote getter (very possibly the top vote getter). As of now, Ailene McGuirk is the only candidate I will definitely be voting for on election day for Hoboken Board of Education. Whether I'll be casting two more votes remains TBD. Unfortunately, that's the statistical predicament this unthinkable alliance has put the Hoboken voter into.

If anyone is all about protecting their "friends" (a.k.a. donors) it is Ravi. The only thing he gives higher priority to than that is moving his Washington D.C. aspirations forward. The item that Ravi was censured for is very real, very unsettling, and very serious. For him to continue to try to spin this narrative of Bhalla = "good guy" and DeFusco = "bad guy" is absurd and not based in reality nor facts.

Ravi will demean an upstart, dynamic Democrat to build political capital with his campaign manager's guru. Ravi will take pictures with controversial "leaders" on trains, without any thought as to who they have or have not offended. Ravi will bad mouth a fellow charter school parent, colleague, and neighbor via thousands of dollars of inappropriate campaign literature, and try to say it's all being done in the name of fighting Donald Trump.

Ravi is a joke. His lame, politically motivated narratives are far from funny though. Maybe Ravi should focus on running a city properly, instead of pulling a fast one on the Hoboken taxpayer, lining up a "nothing to see here" second income stream, bloating his administrative staff, or using his staff as a personal bully pulpit and PR hammer against the Council members who actually see service to the community of Hoboken as their first priority.

LOL. Never seen that show, but I can imagine. It's now the job of those of us who know better to educate the voting public and urge them to vote "YES for McGuirk, and NO for Madigan."

Ailene is good people. She is super active in the Southwest and at Connors School. She also doesn't have a political bone in her body. Really surprised that Tom didn't try to bring her onto his slate, but, regardless of that misstep, anyone who has supported the Kids First teams throughout the years would be making a big mistake by not supporting Ailene McGuirk over John Madigan.

Ravi should really think before exploiting a photo op with a figure as divisive as Linda Sarsour. The vast majority of Jewish people living in the world are citizens of either the United States or Israel. When a "leader' like Ms. Sarsour is openly hostile to both the Zionist movement and a two-state solution, you have to wonder what biases she holds against the Jewish people in general.

It's also questionable whether Ravi should be doing such a national tour de force so early into his term (six weeks in?). Here's some things for everyone to ponder: Who pays for his train and airline tickets, who pays for his hotel, who pays to transport him to and from the airport or train station, who arranged his itinerary, how much time did he spend on Hoboken tasks on Friday, who set up his brunch with the mayor of Austin, who paid for that brunch and all of his other meals while away, why did he ignore pressing rent control board issues over the past week and a half, how much of a security detail is he demanding (both when home and for his family in his absence), and is Ravi truly interested in Hoboken or is he solely interested in replacing Albio Sires in Congress as soon as possible?

Classy sentiments by a ward councilperson who always puts his constituents first.

It's very disappointing that Dawn Zimmer would leave office with a veto of an ordinance that had enough votes to overcome her veto anyway. Two seats on the Council changing won't change the vote either. If you assume that V. Falco will support an ordinance sponsored by her running mate, and don't assume that E. Jabbour will be as dead set against this measure as R. Bhalla was, then D. Zimmer's chances of seeing this fail the second time around are actually a bit smaller that her chances of not seeing it pass this past Wednesday. She will effectively give the issue more publicity, in a town that isn't happy about facing four years of being run by someone who received under 33% of the vote.

It's only natural for people to want their mayor to prove he/she could receive the bulk of the votes that the losing candidates (non-top two) received. If your "supporters" aren't willing to vote again a few weeks later, then maybe their "support" was too lackluster to make this decision for the rest of Hoboken anyway. Bhalla spent a lot of money, and really twisted and exaggerated his accomplishments. Maybe the same voter who is baited by these distortions is the same voter who will be too apathetic to bother to vote twice. And, maybe, that's a good thing for everyone who really cares about the future of Hoboken and has taken the minimal amount of time to educate themselves about the real issues.

Wow. Kinda funny how Nancy keeps pointing out how rarely she's been paid for her graphics work. Sort of makes one wonder why this time was different. Also makes Ravi, yet again, look highly transactional.

Anyone know why the display on the SE corner of 9th and Washington is on the ground, leaning up against the pole? Did it fall down, or was it just never installed?
