Lewis is wrong - there has been huge entryism into the Tories, by Blairites and Lib Dems.

Disgraceful, dishonest man. One of the most treacherous politicians over the last century.

It's not that she's weak - these people are acting with her tacit consent. That should surely be obvious by now.

Yes it's 100% clear these 'rebels' are licensed by May, just as Grieve etc. were earlier in the sellout process.

We can be sure that in the event such a vote were held and Brexit won, Remainers would refuse to accept that result as well.

We actually are replaying here the same discussion from 20-odd years ago when EU fanatics used to say 'if you hate the EU so much why not say you want to leave entirely?' and dared us to put that to a vote - convinced as always the vote would go their way.

No, they continue to make their case clearly and often very eloquently, e.g:

'Better to have let the Government’s motion pass, with all its flaws, than to have disrupted the Prime Minister’s latest negotiating effort'

Oh please. There is no 'negotiating effort' going on, just some of May's cabal discussing with Brussels the best way to con MPs into supporting a treaty Brussels has drawn up, in its own interests. ConHome should not be in the business of trying to pull the wool over people's eyes like this.

And of course a general election could solve the problem - but only if a party stood clearly on a no-deal platform and ensured its candidates genuinely supported that too, with large-scale deselections if necessary.

Last time around, May did the opposite - trying to stop eurosceptics standing and instead putting forward people like Vicky Ford.

It wasn't so long of course since the Italian PM really was a puppet...of the EU.

I imagine you would have dismissed Churchill's warnings in the 1930s too. That Hitler was a decent chap who we should clearly have done business with.
