Cool! Glad to hear that my newbie-reactions to VM seem to have been at least part of what you two were looking for! It was fun doing it. ;-)
One other little thing that t I thought was a clever way to tease new viewers into watching the old seasons was the brief, yet fun scene on the staircase after the reunion brawl between Veronica & her old principal (?) - when he said it was boring without her, it made me want to go back and learn their backstory/dynamic.

Made a sleep-deprived mistake in my e-mail...Krysten Ritter played Lucy on GG, one of Rory's Yale classmates, not one of Paris' high school gang. Apparently she played Gia on VM around the same time (2005-2006). Talk about 6 degrees of separation. :-)

Well thought out & well said Mr. Q.
Too often in the Internet objectivity is viewed as being a hater - especially when offered up during a fun time like toy fair but I take what you said as purely polite objectivity & I agree. These various Matty subs are HUNDREDS of dollars per year, so as the lifeline fir these lines, it's completely FAIR to be able to voice what you do or don't like. I too can't understand why Mattel isn't a stronger presence in the "toy stores"? I was excited when I saw the card backs (and the 3 good figures) but then it was like ohhhhhhhhh-kayyyyy here we go again with another sub-only line :-( it just feels incomplete walking thru a TRU & not seeing He-Man or something like these but still easily being able to grab TMNT, Star Wars, Marvel, TransFormers, & G.I. Joe figures. It is disappointing, but definitely Not your fault Dan. Great reporting all weekend.

Wow! How cool was Jim Fletcher?! What a genuinely fun guy! Reminded me a little bit of Michael Des Barres, who played Murdoc on MacGyver (sans the diabolicalness of course). Wow PD - you not only get to see the toys up close & early, but you get to meet some really cool people too! Those wooden figures were a really unique throwback idea - like they came straight from The North Pole ;-)

Hmmmm.... Battle Lion + PINK paint = Clawdeen in '16???? Fingers crossed ;-)

It'd be nice to see a NINJOR figure before this line wraps.

Looks like Rio also doesn't have the visor/viewfinder that connects his two shoulder guns :-(

My $0.02 on the 12" possibles: I'd love seeing VINTAGE STYLE products with ball joint hips, rather than rubber bands, but there's not much play value in that size - Panthor would have to be 2 feet long and Skeletor would be like the Stay-Puff marshmallow man next to Grayskull. Plus I can't swing 100 bucks X 6-8 figures. I'd much rather see this style in 5"-7" at RETAIL. I'd drop $20-25 per figure (with good paint apps and all the proper accessories) a-la the Star Wars Black 6" comparable products.

@jleonard31 - pure gold once more! Love your points on:
1) Raphael's short-man complex
2) How TF1 (2007) WAS great and groundbreaking)
3) Your Kevin Spacey > Man of Steel STATS!
4) angry interneters being the loudest
5) 2003's TMNT being a great film
6) I forget what "6" was for....but I know it was something else that I thought 'yes! Finally! Someone else sees through that malarky too!' -maybe I better keep a pen & paper nearby next episode!

Love your take on things - you have a big fan right here ;-)
& Dan - loved your "uUh-ohhh" impression on the Bay-to-do-TMNT-fan-reaction!!
A++

Major props to Playmates for the "props" they built to showcase their new offerings!! I'm LOVING those brick tables/walls and the city-street diorama with the huge sewer pipes! That's how it's done! That's how you make the customers DROOL for your toys - just like the old Christmas catalog set-ups! Much better than a mere shelf or table display. Too bad they didn't remove the extra toe & finger articulation on the classics line, but heck - even taking that into account, they still knocked it out of the park this year!

Ahhhh- perhaps waiting for Joe-Con to show them....
THANKS for the reply Dan! We're all very thankful that you are there being "our eyes & ears on the street" as Spidey would put it! ;-) Especially since it's gotta be hard doing this legwork for us 1,000 miles away from Spence & Stina!! God bless!
I gotta snag me one of those 6" Speeder Bikes & the 1990 Movie Turtles!!!! Those DC Super Powers figures are an awesome surprise as well!! Thanks again for all the intel PD! We've all been scarfing up the videos with great interest :-)
