He said that we enlisted the help of a Muslim minor in order to conspire to make a deceptive video about Muslims. I corrected him, and he kept accusing us of being a bunch of liars. I was there. I know what happened. And if you say I shouldn't get offended when someone calls me, my best friend, and some of my Christian brothers and sisters liars, then you and I simply have different views.
(1) There was open persecution of Christians at the festival. (2) The Muslims at the booth were handing out pamphlets that grossly misrepresented the facts. We wanted to find out what they believe about violence towards unbelievers, and how they can defend their flawed interpretation of the Qur'an. That's about all we intended. I know that some people believe that Christians should only preach the Gospel, and not talk about anything else. We do not share such a view. It is important to discuss Muslim views on peace and violence whether Muslims convert to Christianity or not.

We asked what they believed about Surah 9:29, which tells Muslims to fight unbelievers until we acknowledge the superiority of Muslims and feel ourselves subdued. O the irony! They gave us a clear answer!

We called it Sharia because (1) their actions were the result of Islamic teachings, (2) their actions were planned by the festival coordinators (who decided to prohibit free speech during the festival), and (3) the courts upheld the decision of Muslims to prohibit free speech. So it was illegal in Dearborn to exercise our freedom of speech. I don't know what to call this other than Sharia.

I ask again, why in the name of common sense would we stage a kid taking a pamphlet from Nabeel? Could we have anticipated that security would go berserk and start assaulting us? No. So why would we do it? You're just not making sense.
Look, I was there. So was Mary Jo. So was Nabeel. So was Christine. So was Joe. None of us knew that young Muslim. I just think that if you're going to accuse an entire group of Christians of conspiring with a young Muslim for no purpose, you should have some better evidence than, "Well, I would have expected a different reaction." You're extremely offensive and insulting to a group that did nothing but ask a question (and got assaulted for it).
And you need to follow your claims through to the only logical conclusion. So we conspired with the youth to grab the pamphlet, right? What would be the result of such an agreement? Would we expect an assault by mob to follow? Wouldn't we also have needed to conspire with the security guards to assault us? I just don't see how you can read so much into this, and construct a massive conspiracy out of the fact that Nabeel didn't care that an angry teenager took a Muslim pamphlet from his hand. You really think like a Muslim.
Mongoose415, For someone who's been trained, I would expect you to think through your comments a bit more carefully. Those youths asked us what we were doing. Two of us had already been assaulted (probably a set up, right?). Later, Nabeel was holding a Muslim pamphlet in his hand and explaining what had happened in the tent. The youth (who had just been talking with the security guards) snatched it from Nabeel's hand. Nabeel didn't care. We had another one, and we weren't about to freak out against a kid. Did you expect Nabeel to start yelling, "Stop! Thief! Security! That teenager just grabbed a pamphlet out of my hand, and we've even got another copy! Thief! Thief!" You're just not making sense.
You're just being silly. So we came to some kind of agreement with those teenagers and security guards to attack us, did we? Conspiracy theory, anyone? And why, may I ask, would a bunch of Muslims agree to conspire with us to expose Islam? Let me guess. You also believe that the U.S. government attacked the World Trade Center to start the War in Iraq? It seems to me that Nabeel was simply flashing the pamphlet because he was talking about it. The teenager snatched it because he was told by security to do so, as you can see from the footage. (BTW, the Muslim security guards were doing this throughout the festival. Since Christians weren't allowed to distribute information, guards would send someone to Christians to ask for something or take something. Then the Christians would be kicked out.)
When did we forget the part where everyone has the right to worship what they want? And who was worshiping in the video? Muslims? No. Christians? No.
I think you're forgetting that this was a public street, and a public sidewalk, and that streets and sidewalks, according to repeated rulings by the courts, are among the most protected spots for freedom of speech.
As for the cameras, we only brought one at the beginning, and the Muslims at the booth said we could record the conversation. After a Muslim security guard assaulted our camerawoman, we went and got another camera to be on the safe side. So, just to review:
(1) Muslims invited us to ask a question, so we asked a question.
(2) Muslims said we could record, so we recorded.
(3) Muslim security guards violated our rights, assaulted us, plotted against us, and lied to the police, all because they didn't like the fact that Christians were exercising their free speech rights in Deaborn.
(4) WoG18, like most Muslims who have responded, criticizes us (rather than the Muslim mob).
