She already had the mask from her father's wedding, I think.

Oh lord, those sleeves... I wouldn't let my daughter have those (if I had a daughter, that is). They were bigger than her head!

You probably shouldn't watch it, in my humble opinion....
I read the book after watching the movie first. I loved the movie, read the book, and now the movie makes me angry because it could have been so great...
Although I can't hate it completely because my love for Cary Elwes is too great :)

"Colored me surprised that briefly – ever so briefly – Peter defends his own daughter and demands that she not be treated as a servant in her own home. It doesn’t make up for anything else, but I definitely didn’t expect it."

Maybe I'm just blinded by my hatred for that man, but I thought he was protesting in defense of his pride--having a daughter treated as a servant would be a serious insult to his honor and all that. It still surprised me, though.

Also, I'd just like to say that I rarely form crushes or freak out over fictional characters (maybe in part because I don't allow myself to) but this guy was my 2nd-ever book crush in elementary/middle school (after Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables). His sense of humor and overall good-naturedness (we'll pretend that's a word) are just SO ATTRACTIVE TO ME.

P.S. Does someone want to teach me how to make text bold and/or italicized? I literally have no idea what I'm doing. Help would be much appreciated. :)

Exactly! Peter's shady trading blinds him from the fact that con men are thieves, too, just with different tricks, and Edmund tries to point that out to him.

"I admit a delicious satisfaction when Ella uses Hattie's secret against her so Hattie can't give her any commands."

I especially love this because even though it says Ella walks away before Hattie has a chance to respond, Hattie could totally catch up to her and order her not to touch her wig and start bossing her around again, but she doesn't because Ella is just so strong and forceful that she is literally stunned into silence and doesn't know how to respond, which is awesome because I HATE HATTIE SO MUCH.

Exactly! Also, this is completely unrelated but I love your picture. :)
