This is the way it's been done and the way it's going to continue with the horror genre. So you will see, at no time soon, Speilberg directing Crispin Glover as Freddy Kruger when you can get a director from MTV and a kid from the Disney channel to star in your film. They hire people that are just really happy to be there.
