VK, you an ole boxing guy or what? "He can run but he can't hide." In your case being the ultimate insider, pulling strings, critiquing, and in your judgment fine tuning just about everything down to the way the truck backs up Ralphie's Trailer, you are the one hiding from calling all those guys that need your help. You probably could start with George and work your way down through the HC to the coordinators, and even what the heck, why not whisper or yell in the position coaches ears. That still leaves you the 70 or so players that saw the field on Sat. and I'm sure on one of your massive walls holding your bank of computers there is a learning curve devised by you for every one of those kids.

Why do you continue to tell someone down in Tucson to call this or that coach, when you are the big time mucky muck that lives right there in dear old Boulder, CO? Out here in rural America I'm still on a party phone line and only get to use it about 5 or so minutes a day. You just stated that you run with the big time big guys alumni. In that group are you the gofer for refreshments, or back patting, telling them how great they were and still are, or are you the keeper of the learning curve, that is so steep you have slid all the way back down to an area beLOW "START HERE FOR LEARNING CURVE?"

Good gosh yes ep. What the heck is wrong that they never even try to incorporate the TE in almost any pass play? Are they that bad in practice that they have no confidence? Mac used the TE at SJSU a lot and I think the guy made it to the pros. Have they just decided the TE is a blocker. If so then why don't they just bring in another Tackle that is sitting on the bench if the're not ever going to design a play or throw a ball at a TE.

VK, there are all kinds of things going on when a pass play is called and then when the play is under way. Of course he is waiting for receivers to become open, but there are other outlets and more times then not he does not utilize them very much. Whatever the problems are, coaching, schemes, lack of talent by receivers, good defensive play, Sefo holds the ball too long and two many of even what eventually become short or just medium gains or incompletions, and while doing so he does stare down the receivers. You're always referring to your great learning curve. Sefo has become better this year over last, and he will probably get even better as this season progresses. We hear it said and written that he really never had very good mechanics taught to him in HS so he is still developing. All I'm saying is that he still holds the ball too long on many of the pass plays.

While all of us are happy with Sefo's lack of interceptions, he threw a lot of them last year at times when, I think he felt he had to take the team on his shoulders. Also all of the interceptions last year were not all his fault as pressure, and lack of coordination occur even though many times it looks like it was all on the QB. I know I sound like a broken record but I agree with ep's above comments. Sefo continues at times holding the ball too long. He just needs to find the open guy even if it is only a 4 or 5 yard gain at times and get rid of the ball, rather then look down field and then have to throw it away. You know some of these guys that catch a short pass also just may do some creative running after the catch.

Sefo still holds the ball too long. I know that half the people or more don't ever like the commentators, but Yogi or whatever his name is, and he has been doing a lot of the Buff games now for some time, commented on it more then once, although it doesn't even take a TV commentator to see it as he just holds it way to long. Many times he seems to have a guy open for a nice gain with an easy throw, but continues to look down field for more yards. He is a good kid and I still like him as the QB as it is great to finally have one with yet more potential then what we have been floundering around with in the past, but he still has to make better decisions. C'mon VK you're the OC's mentor, talk to him straighten him out. More crossing patterns, TE, quick hitters. You got all those big bad ex player alums as BFF.

ep, I think the St. Louie Rams tried the punt return last week or so. Utah has some great ST's and that punter of theirs is unbelievable. CU needs to go to Australia and get a punter.

VK, I have to disagree with you when you say that the defensive changes are not a good excuse. As I said before there are 10 other guys out there, and if you feel that corner back is so easy to play and learn, which I don't agree with you on, the other guys learning a different defense must support the CB and there just is a ton of coordination that is demanded by all of the players. You yourself have said multiple times that there needs to be more pressure up front to help the Defensive Secondary. So yes a new defense is an excuse, and you seem to only quote Leavitt when it suits your point. Re-read the article as to what Leavitt says. Corner is the easiest position to learn, c'mon where in the heck did you look that up, In The World of Kornholer football according to Garth?

Did you read the article, henry? 3rd defensive scheme in just the start of his 4th season. You want him benched, fine, I hold my breath on all close games involving the Buffs. Until the coaches decide that he should be relegated to the bench, I'll stick with the coaches, but what do they know? I can go with Crawley until he completely causes us to lose game after game with or without the koolaid. It is football and there are 10 other guys out there attempting to play like a team.

VK, I agree that the talent that Crawley will face after this Sat. will be very good every week, I'm not sure it will be any better then Higgins. Although he was supposedly limited going into that game he is a big time receiver and as the game progressed it did seem that Crawley played him pretty tight and played him well. Crawley just needs never to let up as you said he will be facing guys of at least equal quality in the PAC on about every play, particularly if he is lining up much of the time against the upcoming teams number ones, but he has seen many of those guys over the last few years and should have confidence that he can stay with them. Since you just luuuuuve notes: Note: Playing against Higgins and having done well proves that he can play with any of the guys that are approaching in future games.

Colorado Agricultural and Mechanics. My uncle and dad went there and my wife graduated from there with a degree in Animal Husbandry. Many of the kids from where I'm originally from (a farming community) also attended Colo. A&M. There old fight song went something like "Down the field will come the Aggies." Well the Buffs stuffed that in their face this year. I might add I was a much more gracious winner this year then my wife has been for the last couple of years.

It has been said that football injuries often occur when you are just sort of going through the motions playing not to get hurt, sort of like that last run down the slope at the end of the day. That is why it is imperative that these guys go out right from the start, fly around play as hard as possible, under control and get more game experience for the rest of the season, and the game experience also would be nice for a bunch of the backup guys. Hopefully this beginning time frame of the Great Buffalo Turn Around is now in place and these guys need to refine their game, to face what is just ahead.
