First: I'll ask again, were the NO other things going on in GR on that Friday night? Nobody was selling drugs? There were no bar fights or assaults? NOBODY was driving drunk?...C'mon, stop taking it out on these kids just because 30 cops showed up to a harmless prank

Second: So the way to recoup the lost time and money spent BY YOU on a frivolous call is to run these kids through the expensive and time consuming legal process that will cost the taxpayers about 10 times more than any fine you are desperately hoping to recover

Was the entire city of Grand Rapids devoid of ACTUAL crime on Friday night? This whole story sounds like it should be an April fools joke.

It might as well say "Three young men charged with assault with intent to soak when they threw water filled latex (dubbed 'water BOMBS') at a couple of fellow students. Maximum sentence for the charge is 'super soaker' firing squad.

The people who called this in need to relax. The police who responded (yes I know it's their job) should have seen this for what it was and told everyone to go home. The judge who gets this case should tell the boys to wise up and send them on their way.

Wow...I'm guessing you are the life of every party...Nobody was harmed. The intention was not to harm. Was it ill concieved? yup....but so is driving around with your stereo too loud, which is in the same category of "crimes" as this...

@Taurus: HERE HERE! from personal experience and from the tone of the comments here, It sounds like the reason the intersection is more dangerous is because people (mainly truckers) have little or no regard for the rules of the road there. It's the same mentality that causes people to change lanes without looking or signaling, drive 10 under in the fast lane, etc...

First Solution, Park someone there and charge double fines for ANY driving infraction (speeding, running red, ANYTHING) Especially for Semi-Trucks. Those things are disasters waiting to happen when they are driven by careless people.

There is nothing west of 31 on M45 to speak of (except Lakeshore drive). There isn't nearly the straight through traffic as there is @ Port Sheldon.
