She then said she arrived at the trailer at 3:30 a.m. It is impossible to get up, get dressed, get your keys, get in the car and then drive 15 miles...all in 3 minutes. This mortgage deal burns me up. I can understand there are some truly legitimate cases, but that seems to be the rarity. Most of these people got into something they KNEW they couldn’t afford, or they just don’t want the hassle of homeownership anymore. That doesn’t seem “responsible” to me. We had our house for sale for over a year. In that time, we had to move due to my husband’s career to another state. It was very costly and stressful maintaining that home while it was on the market — but we did it. We could have easily just said “we don’t want this anymore” and walked away. But we did the right thing and kept it on the market.
