By definition, criminals break the law--additional restrictions on firearms won't affect them, they only affect those of us who obey the law. I don't know that the White House will attempt to take any action to reduce the possession of guns because of this, but I'm guessing that they will do something more underhanded, like allowing affected victims to sue the gun companies or something. Population disarmament will never gain popular support, they're going to go about back-door methods and drive up the cost of producing firearms and ammunition to the point that citizens can't afford them.
