I like it, but why stop with restricting deductions for private entities? We need to stop deductions for government taxes too so that people can see just how much money the (federal) government takes from them.

Big Government : Will the Left Blame Conservatives and the Tea Party for the Norway Tragedy?

Interesting topic but I am surprised that the editor let the grammar pass. "Often, writing about it in blogs" and "Calling for readers to check out other articles with words in the titles such as, Why do they hate us and A shameful day in journalism" are not even sentences, let alone the punctuation problems with the titles. I love Breitbart's Big sites--let's not give them one more thing to criticize please.

Big Government : Police Union Bosses File Complaint against Police Chief Stopping Crime while he was off-duty

This infuriates me! A moral chief tries to do the right thing by arresting a lawbreaker, and this is the reaction by the union?? It is shameful, and I do hope the good people who are part of this union let the union bosses know it. And for the police chief, there is a special place in heaven for people like you who put up with these weasels regularly.

Big Government : Go Bankrupt, California, Please

Trust me--I understand your concerns. Alaska has some of the most "robust" entitlement programs. Cold weather and darkness not withstanding, people move here exclusively because of our entitlement programs. It shames me. So what I am trying to do here is pressure the legislative and executive branches to reform these programs. When I say "keep an eye on" your state government, I don't mean I am worried about Texas going Democrat. (I'm not much of a party person). Instead, I mean get them reforming programs to allow only limited entitlements for short term "emergency" situations. Outside of government, we can work to create educational programs in the communities for local areas to "help each other" without the government's involvement, and to encourage the working class to vote and support legislators who won't allow lifetime entitlement programs, and who instead promote a work ethic. I completely agree with letting the failing states go bankrupt. It will hopefully cause both of the effects you mention. I am glad to hear that your Mexican population is mostly conservative. What can Texas do to keep it that way? The answers to that are the same things that will keep the "right" kind of people (pun intended) coming to Texas and the wrong kind of people away.

Sorry, have to disagree with you. Our American system was designed to allow citizens to "vote with their feet" by going to states where the laws and systems were of their liking. If Texas doesn't create a welfare state or have sanctuary cities, then it won't get those types of bums moving in--at least not for long. If the Texas system rewards hard-working tax-paying citizens, then that is what it will get, and Texas will be the better for it. Just keep your eye on what happens with your state government to ensure that entitlements and such are kept in check, and all will be well.

Big Government : Alaska Supreme Court Throws Out Miller Claims

I would suggest reading the actual statute. Here, let me help: "A vote for a write-in candidate, other than a write-in vote for governor and lieutenant governor, shall be counted if the oval is filled in for that candidate and if the name, as it appears on the write-in declaration of candidacy, of the candidate or the last name of the candidate is written in the space provided." As you can tell, it is intentionally plain and simple English. Here is a link to help you even more (to the full state statute): http://www.touchngo.com/lglcntr/akstats/statutes/... Your comment about "even when the stupid plays on her name are thrown out, Murkowski still wins" is invalid because of the method of counting. Murkowski's ballots were counted by hand/human eye. Multiple human eyes per ballot in fact. Miller's were counted by notoriously unreliable machines. Let me refer you to my least favorite website, the Huffington Post. The Alaska Democratic Party actually agrees with Miller's camp that these machines cannot be counted on (pun intended). http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brad-friedman/why-j...

Big Government : Alaska Supreme Court Throws Out Miller Claims

I have actually heard that we receive more federal money than that--trust me, most of "the little people" here do not like it and would love to do something about it. But every time we get a decent grassroots effort going (such as Mr. Miller's campaign), the Machine stomps us out. I am not sure what data you are looking at but Alaska's fiscal scorecard is actually pretty good right now. We do have a balanced budget--actually a surplus at the moment due to high oil revenues (see links below). And we certainly don't have the highest state debt per person. We are pretty middle of the road. Here is a 2010 CNN link: http://money.cnn.com/news/storysupplement/economy... Here is a 2010 Forbes link which puts us 31st: http://www.forbes.com/lists/2010/44/debt-10_Globa... Budget links: http://sunshinereview.org/index.php/Alaska_state_... http://www.gov.state.ak.us/parnell/press-room/ful... All that being true, many of us are unhappy that our legislators were as spend-happy as they were in 2010 with all that surplus. We did manage to get a few more fiscal conservatives into the legislature in November. And many of us are VERY embarrassed by how much federal money we get. I am almost convinced that the Machine is trying to maintain status quo for the rural villages in order to keep using them as an excuse for why we need more federal money. For shame . . .

Sarah won the same way that Miller won the primary. We took them off guard. When they (the corrupt 'regime' we have here) think it will be a no-brainer race, they don't bother to roll out their big guns. They get fat, dumb and happy sitting on their laurels. Re: Sarah's race, they sure did not believe that some unknown gal who was mayor of a small town here could ever topple the Murkowski machine in the gubernatorial primary. But the grassroots movement did it before Frank was even awake. Same story in Miller's primary - Lisa Murkowski was simply asleep, expecting that her race would be a blowout. When Miller stunned her, she turned to Daddy, and they turned the machine on high speed, paying off every union and native corporation in the state. Then they called upon the bureaucrats and judges who had been put in place *by her father as governor* to ensure that she would prevail.

I would venture a bet that no one will ever beat Murkowski again. She was caught unawares in the primary. I think we had our one chance this time. Alaskans will unfortunately continue to vote themselves as much government largess from lower48 taxpayers as they can get their grimy hands on. Take it from an Alaskan. And that is why Joe Miller needs to push this all the way to the US Supreme Court. You have no idea how corrupt our system is here. It desperately needs to be flushed out.
