D9 was win in the purest form. Intense action, politically relevant but not preachy, it had elements that reminded me of other films like The Fly, Constant Gardner, City of God, Black Hawk Down. The Dissection of human emotion from ignorance, fear, and racism to empathy and self sacrifice. That journey and story is hard tell without coming off as a wet block of Hollywood cheese. This pulled it off. I also saw sample clips last year of Halo that wound up getting shit canned and appreciated the creativity they used in utilizing thought to be obsolete hard equipment but also make you not dwell on Halo aspects.
