It seems that you must be tight with school district, why else would you attempt to slander or defame one single family in orland that is not going to allow this type of aggresion and bullying to go unchecked. Do you really care 4 Otown, or do you just like having the wool pulled over your eyes? OUSD has done nothing to increase the education of children.

Are you kiddin? With the problems that the water bottling co. is having what is gonna make business want to move to Orland?
Hey, Just so you know, Macdonalds team is undisciplined too, even more so than petersons team. Cole sampson, the QB last season was ejected from a game and had to miss the next one, CIF rule. Did this happen to peterson, No. Macdonlds team had a fight on the bus, result, two players kicked off, Did peterson have bus fights, no. You are wrong, just plain wrong. The barrel of laughs is your allegiance to the back to back 4-6 seasons. It makes one wonder your relationship with the program

nope, it ain't coaching. those are talented athletes you mentioned. talent makes even the worst coach look good. In high school the coach has to play the hand he is delt, this is not college or the pros where you get to recruit your athletes. peterson was delt a couple of bad hands

So Orland17, I will end it here. McDonald took over at a time when things were getting better thanks to Peterson. He was a good coach, but was not ever given his fair shot. The small town politics ruined what was a great decision. Peterson had coaching experience, he had college playing experience, he had weight lifting experience and he knew what it would take to get this place going. Feel free to disagree as I am sure you will credit the uniforms, the weights, and the change in attitude to McDonald, But then again he did take over a better program.

Would you like for me to continue? Discipline problems? The amount of student-athletes that were ineligible from his first year to his second is like night and day. Yes the JV team his first year could not finish the season due to off the field issues, but you have already addressed the carryover issue as lack of discipline from the previous coach. Those players that were able to finish were rewarded with finishing the season on the varsity squad and earning their varsity letter. Peterson’s second year resulted in no off the field issues. That is just one example of the changes he was making.

Another uphill battle he had to fight in his first year was the inadequate weight room. Did you know there was a hole in the wood weight room floor? Did you also know the weights themselves were inadequate? The broken weights, bent bars and hole in the floor, just more things that needed to be corrected and were corrected under Peterson. Did you know that the school squat record was broken by an athlete that was coached by Peterson? It was. A few lucky people that went to the weight lifting fundraiser in the gym got to see it.

Orland17, you think you know it all. Well trust me you have no clue. I remember when Peterson was hired, the program was in disarray. I talked to Peterson a lot during his short time here and got to know him. He had a tough task ahead of him. He knew it and was looking forward to the challenge. Did you know that when he was hired there were not enough uniforms to field the three teams? He was immediately tasked with having to order new uniforms for the varsity squad. Where were all the uniforms from the previous year? Was Peterson to be accountable for the missing uniforms? No I don’t think so. Was he also to be accountable for the $5000+ debt to the booster’s that was left before he took over? In his first year he did enough fundraising to cover the cost of the uniforms for that season. He also ordered new uniforms his second year for the varsity and the previous year’s uniforms became the JV uniforms. He arranged for a two year pay back to the company he did the transaction with, but you already knew that too, right?

Peterson had to deal with the juniors and seniors when he came in as well (crosswhite), just like MacDonald had the juniors and seniors from peterson. Sounds like you know it all though, the blind leading the blind. by your own example you are blaming the previous coach for the outcome, therefore crosswhite is to blame for the 0-10 and 3-7 seasons. At least there was an improvement, with lesser players in that two year span.
