Ok. I'm a good driver - should I be allowed to drive without insurance? Even very healthy people get cancer or some other dread disease. If they don't have insurance and can't pay their bills then who pays for their care? They will not be refused medical care and you and I, Mr. Taxpayer will wind up paying their medical bills.

There are a lot of things in the bill that I don't agree with. However, if people are allowed to not carry insurance it means that you and I will have to pick up the tab for them. No one will be refused basic health care or emergency care and who do you think will end up paying those bill. I would agree to allow anyone to refuse coverage as long as no one is provided medical treatment until they show the money or the insurance.
