Granted it'll probably qualify more of a case of being (peculiarly) self-aware of fandom reactions in this particular one than an outright apology depending on what specific words you might be expecting to see, it still acknowledges and recognizes that there was a lot of disappointment making rounds. I don't have the specific ones from the other 4 on hand, but from one of the main guys himself, you would think that such a thing wouldn't and shouldn't need to be said.

And another newsflash for you, just because people tuned in does NOT necessarily mean they enjoyed it, nor does it mean they were sitting at the TV the entire time. When the network receives those numbers, not only do they not really care HOW it was received, they now have a nice big number to flash and brag about to advertisers, as well as the "evidence" to directly order/influence the show teams and merchandisers on what THEY want.

Blargh, I hate seeing numbers like this that make it seem like I've fallen into a parallel universe. I cannot believe that this many people tuned in for some crappy straight-to-TV movie (after they were done seeing how many desperate souls would pay to see something MLP-related in a theater of course, because why not ransom off your properties to those who cannot wait if you can right?) Even thinking about what earns ratings on other channels, I'm still dumbstruck by this.

You gotta remember though for the first... 5 episodes or so of the first season (maybe into Boast Busters too), they still had the figurative reigns on the creative team so they were a bit restricted into the freedom and creative liberties they would have while they were trying to prove themselves with the show that early into its life. It's an excuse I know, and I hate having to use it, but it was a pretty important thing to note particularly since that's where the initial interest came from.

I see. Well while I acknowledge like you that there were factors that probably affected the season, the fact of the matter is that season 3 still is what it is, and from my POV, it really was that bad. There is a whole new set of variables and factors post season 3 which I feel are going to steer season 4 in the wrong direction, starting with, but not limiting it to, the very same writers that are returning and the new ones that will be poking their heads in. Being that I was already rather cynical about it before, seeing what I'm seeing really isn't shifting that speculation in the same direction that it may be doing for you.

"Constantly" trumpeting the message? I think you might want to look up that word, I do not think it means what you think it means. Consider also looking up "delusional" and maybe "zealot". What happened above was that I had an opinion that didn't match yours, and you replied in a rather haughty tone to "STFU & GTFO." You were the one to make this into something personal. You could've easily disagreed and moved on but instead you just had to stick your 2 cents in and start flipping out. Have you actually stopped and looked at the vitriol you are spewing? All of this from 2 - one sentence comments from a guy who disappeared from this site for quite a while, not to mention hasn't said anything about the show itself in an even longer span of time. I don't need to review your old comments when you are exploding and adding words where there aren't any to a couple of personal opinions (about the writers) that have absolutely nothing to do with anyone else here. You might want to double check the context of a lot of those 1-3 month old comments you are referencing. A lot of it isn't even directed at season 3 and those that aren't discussions with another user are either general thoughts, sarcasm, or in the one case, poking fun at someone firsting.

No, my comment was saying that I do not like the direction that the show has been taken in. Specifically, forsaking the character-driven element which was brought to such a magnificent level and then seemingly dropped for no discernible reason. Being that this falls largely to the writers, which the post and the comment I made was about, it is a bit hard to appreciate the pieces which form the final product when you have something diverting your attention to the point where they are bringing down, if not overshadowing, the rest of the sum of the parts. Last season, the writers did just that. All you are doing right now, focusing on the Faust aspect of my reply to Noobbrony, is putting words where there are none and making assumptions. You can do this all you want, but if this is how you are going to continue, then I think we can consider this aside over.
