Imagine if you learned some correct grammar so you didn't embarrass yourself every time you opened your little potty mouth on a message board? Awwwww, how proud would Mommy be if she saw the words that were coming out of her poor baby's mouth??

Not as disappointed in Madden roster updates as I am about the "promised" online franchise updates or "server-side development that would make changes so much easier" bologna that was crammed down our throats. See the quote below from EA's own blog on Madden 10: -- Above all else, the most important change is that Online Franchise is built around a server-based architecture. What that means is that very little support for the mode lives on the game disc itself…it lives online on our servers. The main reason we went that route was so we could add more features and do extra tweaks and tuning based on community feedback even after the game ships (so our fans don’t have to necessarily wait until Madden NFL 11 for something new to appear). -- The only change I've seen to this day in online franchise is the correction to fix where the logos were flip-flopped on the game stats page after games when viewing your league online...so much for that feature huh?

pastapadre.com : FlashForward Shuts Down Production

I thought this thing had potential and was truly excited when I saw the initial previews and was glued the first couple weeks. But as the season has progressed, I have found myself turned off by the lethargic story speed and terrible character development. They're trying to have too many stories going on at one time without even completing one of them. My fiancee and I watched the last 3 episodes on DVR over the weekend and the most recent one we both commented to each other on the lack of progress. She even pointed out that they seemed to be trying to emulate LOST with this last story and how they revealed Bryce and his story/vision. Sorry, FF but you can't even hold a candle to LOST.

Sroeland -- Do you enjoy College Hoops 2K7 more than 2K8? Asking because I had only played 2K8 since that was when I first got next gen, but I'm interested in getting your take on what makes you play 2K7 over 2K8. Could be something I'm missing out on. Thanks man.

I didn't really run into any points in the game where it would freeze, but I did have an issue with a very noticeable delay when passing. It seemed to happen almost exclusively when passing while an icon was present, whether it was icon passing in the backcourt or during a play where Y or B was above a cutting man. Very frustrating. I would hit the button to pass but it would take a second or so to actually pass causing a delay. It was really a problem for me because the pass would be delayed to guys cutting to the basket, coming off screens, trying to get out on a fast break or just trying to get around the press in the backcourt. Did anybody else notice any issues with this?

With this, in my eyes, being a combination of NBA Live and College Basketball, I was really beginning to look forward to the game with the new presentation etc. being a plus. I was REALLY looking forward to online dynasty or at least an improved dynasty mode, but it doesn't seem like it will be available this year. I'd like to see what they officially release, but at this point I'm guessing they've been holding back on releasing info on no dynasty improvements or online dynasty to keep from buzzkilling what interest they have generated thus far. Just a disappointment really...

pastapadre.com : NCAA Basketball 10 Demo Dated

The presentation is a great step in the right direction and worthy of news, but I'm looking forward to the demo more-so to see if/how the gameplay has improved. If the gameplay is realistic and playable, then presentation is just icing on the cake. If they've modeled gameplay after NBA Live, and I sure hope so, then I'd almost be ecstatic. I know not to usually get my hopes up with EA's pre-release hype and media packages, but I'm hoping this is the one to let me put CHoops 2K8 to rest.

Well stated and clear explanation...and I couldn't agree more! I agree with everything you just stated. It's right along the same lines I was tip-toeing, you're just a lot better at support and wording it correctly, LOL. Thanks for the insight but even-more-so for being able to have a CONVERSATION back and forth without attacking or flaming the other poster. It's definitely a welcomed thing around here, especially given the subject (sliders and sim gameplay) and timing (release of a new sports game). Much appreciated! Cheers bro!

pastapadre.com : NBA Live 10 Initial Impressions

Mculberson I agree heavily with the sliders portion of your post, but not completely. I'm not a slider developer or 'tweeker,' I'm far from it, LOL. I usually hit the forums and message boards and mooch off of the great ideas others have found that work. :-) To me sliders can seem as much a curse or crutch as they are a gift, but the main reason I like sliders is only because they at least give me an option to play the game the way I like to play -- especially since I'm usually not a candidate for who it was designed for coming out of the box. I agree that things should just 'work' out of the box, but for the majority of today's options sadly I just can't expect that. For example, Madden 10, if it weren't for sliders in that game I feel that it would have been a total waste of my money because it was just terrible out of the box. Not saying that sliders make the game a game of the year candidate because there are many other issues -- but this isn't the place or time for that -- but it gave me the ability to make it more enjoyable for ME to play. Now, on the other hand, NHL10 is a prime example of a game that just works out of the box!

pastapadre.com : NBA Live 10 Initial Impressions

What an idiot...and I'm not even referring to the grammar. I just don't get the ppl who continue to call Pasta a fanboy? It's not like he's telling anyone to pick one over the other. Maybe it's the readers and not the writer that needs to take off the 2K or Live tinted glasses. As an exclusive 2K owner, I've come to the site to read both of his impressions on Live and NBA2k with an open mind and I think he's been objective in his reporting of both. If you don't like his writing or analysis then you don't have to visit 'his' site or read 'his' work. There are plenty of other options available out on the internet. Just find the one that tells you what you want to hear and stick to that one. In the meantime I'll continue to read his impressions that offer the good and bad views of both games and has no allegiance to one or the other.

Regarding the high percentages that are being reported in 2K10, has anyone had a chance to experiment with sliders to see if that changes the effectiveness of the made shots? Same for the 'lack' of made shots for 3s in Live? Just interested to see if/how sliders work in each respective game.
