I would use it to touch on the fact that just because you have a condition, does not make you different, unless others or you decide it to be. Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and maybe Apple Bloom would also feature.

Either they will be bug ponies, or ponies with bug-like wings. We won't know their backstory due to the fact mlp might change it to fit with the universe, but that's essentially it.

The flutter ponies were the only thing that could stop the smooze, a purple lava-like substance that was basically like the ice from the Windigoes in that episode, or like a goo that stuck to the body and couldn't be removed. My memory is fuzzy though, I only saw it once as a kid after all, but the flutter ponies did stick(That, and one pony whining about getting Pneumonia(SP) strangely enough)

And I have no idea about the G3 ponies.
