The tables turned on them, one ended up in hospital then in jail thanks to parents that demanded that I study self defence when it became apparent to them that there were those that would pick on me in school. For the most part in todays climate gays do not make very good victims and are going to stand up and resist then followup in court. I do not believe the suspects mother. In reality there will be very few people that will partake in this procedure, thus will not be that costly to the taxpayer. A few years ago I transitioned from male to female for many personal reasons, however I had to save my personal funds to afford it. There are a few doctors in the US that provide the surgery and a few in Canada but the least expensive place is Thailand. Prior to being approved for the surgery one must have mental evaluations, live their lives as the opposite sex and function in their day to day life being identified as such. There is a saying which is true and says that most of those that opt for the change are male, "it is easier to dig a hole than build a pole" There are a lot of things that are involved both before and after but most of them involve personal adjustments such as getting a drivers license and passport in your new name, property, vehicles, banking etc. which do not cost insurance providers money. I had the transition surgery male to female a few years back and am happier and better adjusted with my life. I paid for the entire cost myself including travel, hospital care etc. not the taxpayers which is as it should be. When I was a child other kids picked on me because I was different than they, one day I was beat up on the playground while a teacher watched, my parents were livid that there was no intervention. One evening I was walking on SW Park, 2 men were leaning up against the building where Atiyah carpets was located, they made comments regarding my perceived sexual orientation. One of the men shoved me into a parked car while the other grabbed me. When the confrontation was over one of the guys lost his front teeth and had to be taken to the hospital, the other had to go to the hospital for head injuries after he went head first into a wall. A cab driver saw the whole thing go down and called 911, the police showed up, called for an ambulance, cab driver told the police what he saw, I told my side of the events. The two were arrested after being released from the hospital, I testified in court along with the cab driver. The two went to jail. Not everyone that is assaulted will end up being a victim. I have never been very good in that role. Any phone or electric company cannot refuse service if you pay the deposit. When I am required to give my DOB, full name and SSN I make a note on my copies of the date, time, location and who I gave it to. Becareful of employers that want to run a background before they hire, they contract with a 3rd party and you never know who has access to the info.
