Not that I support the OWS crowd nor the crap coming from them but it bothers me a government entity fired her for exercising her 1st amendment rights. If we are for the constitution, it should include speech we object too as well.

You all are missing the point, HE IS RIGHT! But the problem is the proliferation of the liberal Nanny state philosophy of entitlement that has caused us to grow soft. He bemoans a predictable outcome of his own ideology and doesn't even realize it.

The passage quoted is not about how we are justified. It is a lesson on how WE as humans will recognize others of the same Spirit, by their fruits. That recognition of good works (fruits) does not equal justification as you argue. Lets quote a passage that speaks precisely to the point Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast"

The reality is, take away the theology and you and are are pretty compilable and likely agree on a ton of issues with very similar values. In all this we must not lose sight of that. I even store food, about 9 months worth not a year but close, spent the summer in SLC, Mormon roommates, chummed around with Mormon officers when in the Army (all the others wire just vile) I just tell everyone of them, we will not discuss Theology and agree to disagree from the get go.

The Mormon and Christian definition of deity is not the same when discussing Jesus Christ Mormons teach Jesus has not always been God but was elevated to a god like position in the cosmos. Christians teach Jesus was, is and always will be God as party of the Trinity. "Jesus, like all other gods before Him, had to become a God. He is the literal Son of God like we are children of God, but He's without sin (Fielding Smith, The Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 346-7 [pre-2002 edition])."

Sorry but Smith jr. admitted to money digging and it is in the LDS history of he Church. He was also arrested for money digging and that is in the court records. Calling him a witch may be strong but its not hard to see the occult influences. Particularly since the plates were translated in the exact same manner and using the same tools of the money diggers....

Every religion has hypocrites, even Mormons. Shall I tell you about my fat tax dodging Mormon friend with a honey on the side or lets talk about Harry Reid. Justification by faith (grace) is foundational to Christianity but the relationship of grace with acts of works or faith have been debated for literally centuries and probably the root of most denominational splits.. Entire libraries of commentary are available on the topic so your concern about paying lip service with no discernible change in behavior is shared and valid.

I think it started with the Apostle Paul Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" In Romans 5:12 he describes more detail "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"

Again, it is not unreasonable for the narrative to be even partially corroborated by history, science or archeological evidence. Even a fragment of the original text would be helpful. Problem is nothing exists. Worse, the opposite is true, Joseph Smith's translation of the book of Abraham has been shown a complete fabrication by LDS Egyptologists casting serious doubts on his translating abilities as a whole.

We are here so creation is a fact and well you got me, the virgin birth is certainly a faith thing. But, we are already side tracked. Bottom line is it is not unreasonable for the historical narrative in the book of Mormon to be at least partially grounded in reality supported by archeological evidence. The Iliad has more archeological evidence to the events portrayed by Homer then does the story told by the book of Mormon.

Ok then now you do draw difference between LDS and Christian, very interesting and your shifting of the argument is not valid either since you don't address the specific issues in the original points.
