I have been hurt by churches, especially church leaders. When I left my last church, I grieved over the loss of felowship and love I felt from MOST of the congregation. But the powerful board of deacons seemed to be making it up as they went along. And the claim was always that God was supportive of whatever new rule or policy they came up with. If I hear you correctly, I need to seek a church where the spiritual attitudes match scripture (i.e. the heart of God). So far, the quest is not going well. By the way, Dr. S means well, but he takes some getting used to. I, too, disagree with him on this issue, but he is receptive to different viewpoints.
