KOMO - Seattle, WA : Mother furious after in-school clinic sets up daughter\'s abortion | KOMO News - Breaking News, Spor

Well maybe these students should start being taught about adoption? How many families out there have to wait years to adopt a child because one of the adults is infertile? And these CHILDREN are able to get pregnant and treat it just like a "cluster of cells", not realizing what a blessing they could be to another person and give the child a chance. Yes it's unfortunate, but that doesn't mean that if you carry the child to term you HAVE to raise it.

Breitbart.com : New Obama plans: \'spend our way out\' of downturn

Great News!!! I can use the Obama model and spend my way out of bankrupcy!!!! I thought I was going to have to pay back my creditors by saving and selling stuff, well not any more! Bush's tax cuts actually increased revenue to the government; the only problem was that Bush didn't cut spending but increased it. If you give people incentive to make more money (lower taxes), they will! Funny how that works.

I guess this is what we get for looking weak to the rest of the world. Not only Chavez, but Brother Castro down in Cuba is also running military tranining exercises preparing for a "U.S. Invasion". Who's going to bet these to dictators would team up? It's unfortunate, but peace through strength is a thing from the past.

6 years for planning to blow up an American tower? And swearing allegiance to a known enemy of the United States? That second one is worthy of the death penaly alone, but under the same principals they would also have to sentence Sean Penn to death. Wouldn't be huge loss...

I believe reform will help this country out of bankrupcy, but not a $1.2 trillion over 10 year bill. We need to CUT SPENDING not increase it. I am against business handouts, government should not choose winners and losers. Cut the corporate rate and let companies spend the money they make instead of giving it to a nameless, faceless beuracuracy. Do you think that if a company keeps more of its money it will just pocket it? Or will it spend it on capital (human or otherwise)? If you think they will pocket it you don't know the first thing about business. "there are no such things as profits, only expenses".

Not every insurance company denies pre-existing conditions, and if they do it is because of government regulation. They cant compete because of government regulation, everything you say is because of government regulation. Local governments tell the insurance companies they have to cover certain things, whether the insured needs them or not, and they don't allow high-risk pooling, like car insurance. Sure there is that 1 in 1billion problem that you point out, and the insurance companies should answer for that. But promoting competition and choice in insurance is "die quickly"? Despite what princess nancy says, the dem bill does not promote competition; it is a way to back into a single payer system.

Do you not think that because medicare only partially reimburses doctors for procedures that they have to pass the costs on to everyone else? I don't mind having a program to help the truly destitute, but this bill won't do anything for them because there are already programs for them. Have you read any of the Dem's health care bill, listened to princess nancy and dirty harry? They want to "squeeze" costs out of the system, meaning lower reimbursement, capping pay, and higher taxes on private plans, device manufacturers, and eventually everyone.

I agree this is our issue, then why does the government feel the need to stick their noses in it even further? No it is not your choice to get sick, but it is your choice to live healthy or not. No you don't chose to be in an accident, but correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't car insurance pay for medical bills, and workers comp pays for on the job injuries, etc. I think that records should be electronic, but not if the government or insurance companies jump in, just between you and your doctor; but that is not the reason for so many tests, it is to cover their backsides from lawsuits. You don't think this bill will bankrupt the already bankrupt USA (thanks stimulus, TARP, omnibus, budget, "green initiatives", government in general)?

You do make some good points, but you are only towing the liberal line in this health care debate and not considering the other sides. Yes the uninsured do create a strain on the rest of the system; but how many of those uninsured choose to be uninsured (speaking as an uninsured male, more than you think), what about the cost of malpractice insurance because of the likes of John Edwards, the costs of extra tests so doctors won't be sued because they "didn't consider all options" (once again, thanks John Edwards). And if people can't truely afford health care there are state assisted programs that they can join, but many choose not to (look at Mass. for example, universal health care but there are many people they can't get to join).

and I'm not saying I agree with the existence of the Fed, I am saying I have a problem with the government trying to gain oversight over an entity that it was never inteded to control. Congress does have power to borrow (I think we have found that out a lot in the past year), print, etc... I think the Fed has too much power as well, it should be dissolved. I agree with your statements completely, it is the principle behind all of these oversight commitees that is really concerning me.

I think the key word is WAS an economist. Why doesn't he say he IS an economist? Think about it... If this guy was a republican he would be dragged in front of the media, forced to apoligize (and as repubs normally do, apologize) and then be strong-armed to resign. But there is not double standard, it is just a right wing nutjob talking point!!!

While I do agree the political correctness is going to be the death of free speech, I still disagree with this guys comments. The last thing congress needs is more oversight of anything! Congress has overstepped its bounds way to many times, and it has amassed more power than it was ever intended to have. The Federal Reserve is idependant entity correct? Why should congress have oversight on an entity it was never allowed to control in the first place? While an audit should be called for, and Bernanke fired (please!), oversight is just another way congress gain more control.

Big Hollywood : LEAKED NETWORK MEMO REVEALS: Obama Controls Your Television Set

My problem is that this administration is going down a slipper slope, and I have no doubt that obama will require community service as part of an education. You do what they tell you to do, "serve" where they tell you to serve, or you don't graduate. History does have a nasty way of repeating itself. Or for better refference, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."

No problem, you will never hear and learn unless you have true dialogue. But to answer your point, volunteering is good, more people should do it so we could rely less on government. My wife and I volunteer with inner-city children, teaching them to read, do math, and play music. But I am not going to shame my neighbor because he wont or cant, it is not my place. I would rather persuade by example instead of trying to indoctrinate them into serving for "the greater good". We all have different views of what that good is, everyone should be left to decide for themselves not the EIF. Some people don't have time to volunteer, but they can donate to a charity and do just as much good as spending time in the community. If we keep getting taxed out the @$$ by our dear leaders charities will suffer, and the people who really need help will loose out.

But, global warming is crap, SUVs and trucks should still be produced, and CAFE standards cost lives. I think the government should cut taxes for EVERYBODY, rich people make jobs, not beaurocrats, we should do a flat tax, and we should rely on charities to help the poor, not the government. And our military families are some of the greatest Americans, God bless them, and lets let groups like the USO help them out even more. Not political huh?
