Shopping Cart Disco : Resizer Development

People who put their hair "no mod" and think a resize script suffices, are crazy. I would NEVER buy hair no mod, resize script or not. Ridiculous

Shopping Cart Disco : Shutting Down for the Protest!

Exactly. Also, many people use shop land to hang out on, so they would be in the company of other verified individuals. This doesnt only have to be limited to shop owners, but land owners as well who host common areas. Yea, it closes off access to innocent people, but its not hard to submit payment info. And like I said, you may lose some sales and upset people now, but if people really cared about this, in the long run, this is a move worth trying out.

Shopping Cart Disco : Shutting Down for the Protest!

You know what I would like to see? A petition to SL shop owners to make their shop PAYMENT INFO ON FILE ONLY access. Dont play a guessing game, send out notecards and have shop owners who wish to participate send in a notecard back. That way theres an idea of who/how many people, will be doing it. I think payment info on file access to stores is something that will encourage people to submit some form of verification if they want access to content. There is no denying that the MAJORITY of thieves have blank, unaccountable, profiles.

Yea, but stfu and give it the benefit of the doubt. WHAT IF those deaths are real? Its not worth risking it with foolish chatter. You just show how heartless you are and probably have not experienced any deaths in your family/people close to you so its easy for you to spout such nonsense. Dont turn this post into a forum for your lack of compassion. this is for people to show their condolences.

Shopping Cart Disco : Stolen Content on the Teen Grid

Yea, I do have a bit of an instigator's streak to me. But no not really in terms of trying to "Shit stir". So, if my car got bashed in in RL, and I saw that it was ruined but didnt see who did it, bringing an eye witness to testify and saying, "well my car is bashed in, I didnt see who did it, but my neighbour here saw the defendant there hitting it with a bat" is stirring shit? Not really.. But there is a fine line. Believe what you wish and disregard the rest ;)

Shopping Cart Disco : Stolen Content on the Teen Grid

YAY! Actually, the person who I heard it from is fresh off of the TG and is a credible source. The question for me is whether it is really true or not- I dont believe anything unless I have physical evidence; of which it shouldnt be too hard to obtain (If it is true). I just wasnt that worried about it to go out of my way to obtain such material. Due to the rampant theft going on there, its not a far fetched statement. Furthermore, due to an occurrence that happened regarding her here on the MG, it just adds to the case. But im not going to get into a debate about it. If saying that makes me not a decent human being than oh well. Ill apologize when/if I feel wrong about it. Everyone else can choose to chalk it up as pure gossip and ignore my statements.

Thievery is really bad there. I dont know if this is true but word is the girl from [plastik] had a teen grid store where she would sell stolen content from MG. Again, I dont know if this is true. But i was told this. Repeat, repeat, i dont know if this is true.

Shopping Cart Disco : Artist's Voice: STOP!

@ Selonna - Alright, im sorry. Im American too, if that makes it at least a little better. I do realize not all Americans are like that, but I also realize that many are and in schools we are usually never made aware of other countries and their important and relevant current events, yet they are made very aware of ours. So with that said, I can go on to reply to SCDs question, as it ties in: @ SCD - Easy... Just like some americans are oblivious to the rest of the world, it seems like this group of people here are not taking into consideration that they are only a SMALL sliver of the SL population, so pulling something like this wont work. I feel we are so inside of our so called "in crowd" box, we forget about everyone else and we forget there are thousands of SL users who have never heard about us. So, I made the comparison of how sometimes some Americans are the same way in terms of their place in the world in regards to other countries, etc. Im not against Artists voice or IP rights at all. But being how only a VERYYYYYYYY small percentage of the SL user base would be even hearing about this "boycott" of sorts, its not going to have any impact on LL. At least in my opinion its not. Does that make sense? Im all for getting LLs attention and pushing them to respect us, but I dont think this will achieve it. What about the other 95% of SL users who will be uploading, building, buying, and selling?

Shopping Cart Disco : Artist's Voice: STOP!

I think all the major stores in SL should change their land to disallow access to "no payment info" on file for 2 weeks and see the response. Other stores should join in as well. Checking both of my ban lists, 98% of the names (That were still active) had no payment information on file. Most of them were brazilian/gangster type profiles. Im not a fan of punishing innocent people, but most of the damage seems to be coming from people who sign up using bogus information and thus have no payment info on file. True, there are some honest loyal customers spending good money in shops who do not have payment information, but I think we are at the point where we have to say, "Sorry, the thievery is out of hand" and try the no payment method. People are too worried about losing money NOW, but if this keeps up, there wont be a good future for them to make money. Either because of thievery, or LLs new content "roadmap" bull shit. Whichever gets them first.

Shopping Cart Disco : Artist's Voice: STOP!

Hi. I am in full support of legit IP rights and getting LLs attention. I however, am not in support of this. And let me tell you why. Its faulty, and the only people it will hurt are the people who close their doors. Those people will lose income for 48 hours, and LL loses nothing. I think what everyone needs to realize is that like in the real world, your country (Ahem, americans), are not the only country that exists. There are MANY other human beings, cultures, and nations out there. Same with here in SL. All of us who are aware of SCD and this group and the so called "in crowds", are only a small fraction of the whole of Second Life. Us closing down shop and stop buying will only cause a small dent to LL, a dent that will go away in 48 hours when those same people rush out to buy up everything they couldnt get for 2 days. So who does this hurt? It huts the content creators who close down, not Linden Lab. We are only a very small group of people, there is more SLife on the other side of the river. Avatars who know nothing about us, avatars who will never get this "STOP" message. In order for LL to take notice, a MASS amount of people would have to do something drastic. Like I dont know.... all the THOUSANDS of people in SL (not only in our little group), but EVERYONE, abandon land. And that isnt going to happen.

Shopping Cart Disco : Designer's EULA

Ok you guys, when I replied to this earlier, I did not read her entire agreement because I was on a mobile device. But I just saw this part: "You will NOT modify, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse engineer any part or component of the Content" Ok, if her shoes are NO MOD, then that is a perfectly fine and legal request. (As they are no mod to prevent that. I had someone bot a no mod item I sell to figure out how I did it and release their own.). HOWEVER, if her shoes are MOD and she is trying to say no one can take it apart and see how it was done. Thats foolish and laughable. And quite sad actually. Reverse engineering is how the world grows. Then she says, "You MAY make ONE copy of the Content for archival purposes." LMAO! Please tell me her shoes are NO copy?? If they are copy, what right does she think she has to tell someone to only make one back up copy? I think I might be misunderstanding something.. I hope shes not talking about inworld copy tools if her shoes are "Copy OK" Her license is sketchy assuming her shoes are "No mod, Yes Copy". Very sketchy. But I think its still wrong to call her names. Its kind of comical, sure. But shes the one who spent her time making them and if you dont want to respect her license then do not buy it. But i think she needs to reassess this license and realize it is asking people to be very restricted. I can understand licenses that basically tell you in plain english what the TOS says. But hers seems to ask people to NOT do things that the basic permission system is allowing- Eg. "let me make my shoes copyable. but tell people they can only make one copy". Now, if her shoes are NO copy, then I change my stance.

I disagree. This is why in everyday life people are scared to stand up for righteous things because when they do people throw comments out to them like yours. "They think theyre more important than they are" umm Sorry but have you not noticed things have gotten COMPLETELY out of hand???????? Some people rip very innocently because someone told them "They were allowed and it was within their buyer rights". Which isnt always the case. First of all, not only is it against LLs TOS to extract, but many content creators do not want that being done to their items. This has nothing to do with people thinking they are super grand and awesome. It has to do with the blatant disrespect consumers have when obtaining the creators problems. Go ahead and put up license agreements. If people dont like what it has to say, then they can TP out and go shop somewhere else.

Shopping Cart Disco : Huge Cache of Stolen Content

@ Rogue. Sure, a lot of people would enjoy the items and pass them around. This is why i have begun banning people who freely enjoy content they know was stolen :) Dont put everybody in your group of low moral standards. I echo what Bull said. People who enjoy and pass around stolen content KNOWING its stolen, are as guilty as the initial culprits. My ban list is growing each day :D

Exactly, WTG. This is why the new "Content creation roadmap" is coming. Because LL would rather leave accounts open, free, and limitless, then to put some restrictions in place. With the new roadmap, LL hand selects an elitist group of people who they will protect under their wings, while leaving registration opened to ensure they continue to get those high player numbers while t hose not chosen get fucked by thievery. The high registration numbers LL boasts are really nothing more than thieves, bots, and people who tried the game once and hated it.
