No-one cares. If they did, China's trade would have dried up following their trashing of the 1 country 2 systems agreement with HK. Not to mention their less than honest account of Covid 19 & their treatment of Uighur citizens.

And it seems those most outraged by the latest govt. antics ought to look to their own behaviour over the past 4 years and how it might have affected our reputation.

The SNP remind me in many ways of the Brexit Party. Good at emotional narrative, but short on detail.

The successive stream of litigation in the Scottish courts prior to the UK leaving the EU demonstrates how reliant the SNP were on the UK remaining in the single market for Scottish independence to be obtainable. Now that we leave the single market, independence will be much more problematic as the EU would insist Scotland erect a hard border to protect the single market.

This along with the issues related to the rules around currency makes Scottish independence difficult. Not to mention the EU's reluctance - if Scotland want EU membership the problems with Catalonia will be amplified.

Imagine how different this would have been had the government taken the decision a month ago to allow the UK population to go about their everyday lives, but had insisted anyone entering the country went into designated quarantine premises for 14 days.

We'd be dealing with small manageable clusters of infection & the economy would be functioning, albeit the overseas tourist injury would have taken a massive hit.

Due to the inevitable delays on goods arriving from the continent, passenger planes could have been switched to cargo to keep the supply of goods coming into the country in a timely fashion. It's a very quick process to clear the passenger deck of planes - Royal Mail do this frequently to fly mail overnight & reinstall the seating ready for the following day.

We'd have bought valuable time whilst effective treatments are developed & saved thousands of lives & businesses.

I'm perplexed as to why, in January, the World Health Organisation concluded that there was no evidence to suggest the novel virus could not be transmitted from human to human. The scenes in China showed a disease out of control & the sheer numbers indicated that it was highly infectious.

The WHO's 'error' will cost many thousands of lives across Europe & millions globally; as an organisation they are not fit for purpose.

It's a crazy world we live in when UK citizens are in a lockdown situation, many economically destitute, but very ill people are still flying into the country without any checks or quarantine & are hopping straight onto public transport, at large to mix with essential workers.

We've all but stopped our domestic economy when we should have ring fenced the country & concentrated on curtailing passenger flights to essential travellers only. We'd have had an overseas tourist industry hit hard, but we could have salvaged the rest of our economy. As it now stands we all have to suffer economically & people will die due to the negligence of purported experts.

I watched an interview with a Spanish doctor yesterday - he was in tears as he described how anyone over 65 is now taken off ventilators & sedated until death. The ventilators are then used on younger patients with a better chance of survival. If those sorts of choices have to be made by our NHS staff, I dread to think what the political fallout will be.

I don't think MP's 'fall for it', I think they see a way of making money out of it. How many of them will be setting up consultancies for environmental solutions & carving up our countryside with get rich quick renewable eyesores?

I wondered where all of this 'climate crisis' was going.

The Government have announced they are lifting the restrictions on onshore windfarms & renewable firms will be able to bid in auctions for subsidised contracts. Great news! You can have a windfarm on your doorstep to reduce the value of your home significantly & what's more your taxes will pay for the turbines.

My county has enough windfarms to supply over half a million homes with electricity, yet we have fewer than 400,000 homes. We also have many individual turbines & several solar farms. Neighbouring counties also have an abundance. It's a racket & you & I will pay dearly for it whilst renewables firms will ruin the countryside.

It's not sour grapes - I'm fortunate enough not to have a windfarm near to me, but I feel for those that do. I'm house hunting at the moment & went to view a too good to be true property. It had a huge windfarm to the side of it & the owners admitted everyone that viewed the property had been put off by the turbines.

That was awful. The silence & embarrassment from all in the House - it had the feel of a funeral.

A sad day for everyone. A really good government needs to be pushed along and have its policies improved by a powerful opposition. I get the feeling we will instead be left with screaming tantrums & litigation being used instead of effective debate... again.

I read today that when David Cameron & Mrs May phoned losing candidates within 48 days to say sorry when Tory seats were lost, but Mr Corbyn hasn't phoned his Labour MP's who lost seats. Does he think they are to blame, not his administration?

They're not actually centrists but extremists in my view. It made me shudder when Grieve attempted to table an amendment to the NI Bill which would have cut off spending to health & welfare in the event of a no deal exit from the EU. That isn't centrism, it's pure evil. Cutting off funding to the most vulnerable & poor in society is the act of someone with a very wicked mind. People like that need keeping away from positions of power.

Same here. I was unsure that Boris was the right candidate, but he's exceeded my expectations.

Keeping up the momentum will be a challenge. A lot of voters have loaned the Conservatives their vote this time & if they don't deliver they'll be punished at the next election. It's the forgotten regions that really need to be acknowledged & helped.
