Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Guess who were the two biggest recipients of political contributions from AIG during the last electi

I stand corrected, I will apologize to my kids as soon as they get home. They are infinitely more responsible than most of the Hob Goblins we the people have sent to Washington. I include myself in the accusation, like many Americans I for years did not pay much attention to what Washington was doing. I can assure you I'm watching now. "A People who refuse to get involved in politics are doomed to be ruled by lesser men."

And yet as I write this Washington is raking Liddy over the coals on the air. I do hope that everyone is enjoying the dog and pony show. The true rats are the ones we have allowed to run unchecked in Washington for way too long. I feel like I just walked in on my kids doing something wrong and now they are standing there acting incredulous and pointing fingers. Please, will somebody tell Barney Frank that he or the Federal government does not own AIG. We the American people do. It was our money.

When we state that "WE THE PEOPLE" have an 80% stake in ASG. Now we think wait a minute, why are the representatives that we hired spending our money like this. I'm holding someone responsible for this. This is government with a little g. The word Police and Political Correctness crowd have spent years slowly changing our though processes. It will take little steps to change them back. The government owns nothing,................We the people do. The government owes nothing,................We the people do. WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE GOVERNMENT! Let’s make our staff accountable

Ok, I must be watching way too much News. It finally hit me a second ago that we need to change the way we speak when talking about the government. Words are powerful. Often times how we say things effects how we think on a conscience and un-conscience level. It was stated that the Government has an 80% stake in AIG. Putting it this way mentality perpetuates the Government as higher power and nothing could be further from the truth. This is supposed to be a government of the people for the people and in that light the government does not have an 80% stake in ASG, "WE THE PEOPLE" have an 80% stake. I know that some of you are thinking..............Why is that idiot playing word games!..................... Think about it: When we state that "Government has an 80% stake in AIG". It feels like we have no recourse "the Government ( capital G) spent the money nothing I can do".

You guys are missing the point! That comment was meant to draw a comparison with what is often described as the Ultimate act of honor by a group of people long gone with what the Senator calls the dishonest and irresponsible act committed by AIG. I personally think he should look in the mirror. Please stop using the Political Correctness card to shout him down. instead turn his words against him and ask if he would be willing to hold his actions to the same test.

Let's get down to it. As I have said on other posts, I believe in the old adage that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". Is it wrong that AIG spent tax dollars to pay out bonuses? sure. But the root problem is that the Federal government would highjack our money and bail out private business in the first place. No tax dollars to spend, no tax dollars spent on bonuses, no bonus. As far as what to do with the money still on the table to go to AIG? Any company healthy enough to pay out bonuses to its staff certainly is healthy enough to go without any more of our tax money. As for what was said about "Resignation or Suicide", I think we should hold that Senator to his word and ask the same of them for voting to keep their pay raises in this economy.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : New Calls for Assault Gun Ban

Who gets to make the determination on how aggressively I can defend my Family? you? Or are you saying that we have the right to the tools only to defend ourselves against our fellow common rabble but not against a runaway government? I don't think you will find support for that position in any of the founding documents. In fact I can point you to several Government papers advocating the private ownership of cannon (the most terrible and violent weapons of the day). I think your thoughts have the best of intentions behind them, but I also know the road to hell is paved with good intentions and if you think by giving up the "evil black rifles" that the goblins will go away and leave you to you Hunting guns I fear you will be greatly disappointed.

"These guns are not meant for hunting, or sport, or basic self-defense." Can you help me with that statement Kni7es. As a responsible citizen I know that the use of deadly force is a terrible and last ditch response to someone trying to infringe on my or my families right to life and liberty. With that in mind what is "Basic" self defense, If I were to pick up a rock to defend myself or my family from a mugger would that be "basic" self defense where as if I picked up a cinderblock that would be "advanced" self Defense? At what point does my defense of my wife and two girls in the middle of the night become excessive the 3rd. round? 6th., 11th. ?

I spent more time reading the replies on this subject than I should have and have been going round and round on how to reply to our resident "TROLL" . In the end, I refer to one of my favorite quotes: "If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." -- Samuel Adams Let the Troll go in peace.
