Not being based in Uganda or Africa at present am not sure on the investment apetite for local entrepreneurs who have succeded in Africa, are there many willing to invest in such incubators or business as your self? The one thing that needs to build is investment money in order to build and fund new startups. I was wondering what your opinion of Chinese involvement in Africa is now? Many people take a very positive view, which I find interesting. I've heard people say that one of the positive things about China is that they are willing to directly engage any government instead of insisting on good governance when giving out aid! It was not so long ago that I was hearing how the problem with western companies and governments is that they were willing to engage anyone including corrupt regimes. To my understanding its only been recently that the west has really insisted on good governance in return for aid and re focused on developing native talent. But now China comes and offers aid the way the west did forty years ago (few standards or pre-conditions, always with outside talent doing the bulk of the work given their low cost of bringing in Chinese talent) and so many people even in America laud it as a great development? This really confuses me. To be clear, Chinese involvement might be a net positive, it probably is. But the very things China is being lauded for are the things that people condemned the west for not that long ago, so it seems to me if things were consistent people ought to be out there urging China to model itself after the Western aid instead of lauding China for doing exactly the same thing people were not so long ago condemning the west for??

Great job.

Just made a bad decision and used Paypal in my startup. When i submitted my app for approval , not only was my account shut down but I was kicked out of the developer portal. Reason: "Unfortunately from your country you cannot receive payments" ..but why block me from the developer portal? Am not complaining though. Like someone in the thread mentioned this is a market gap that a smart entrepreneur should fill...(someone like me :)). Africa now has a thriving mobile payments eco system , we need to figure out how to connect it to the rest of the world ... without Paypal

A shift in resource usage or weather patterns throws this thing off a bit. What a thought provoking study and graphic. I understand that things do not go too well in the world, for we are many and there will be many more. I guess that's the advancement of medicine etc ... The big problem is that, as you say in the article, things will not improve simply because of two reasons, first, as indicated by the study, by global population growth, the second is that by nature humans are very greedy, little austere and costs shared.
